The poster of this thread is not just #####in to be #####in...this driver is spot on with his report. Coreyland is a fact.. you get up there in PA and you get madder than HELL. I keep a black book myself with a list of Shippers/receivers that have detained me and not received detained pay for my wasted time. Very precise info is logged and I flat refuse to return to these places. Get done dirty once and thats it. I have noticed especially in the last year that turn-over at crete has hit an all time high. It seems that every crete driver you talk to now days is fresh on board. These unproductive loads (low mile/to much time) I dont accept. When I refuse such a load it was put on me anyway....What did I do? Told em Red was gonna stay parked till productive miles became available/I dont give a rats ###...I am National Fleet...Dont give me day cab miles and expect me to run with it.

GEE, where do I start?
I've been with Crete for 5yrs (next mo) and find very little to whine about! Crete like ALL companies are in biz for one thing only TO MAKE MONEY! Not provide a job for people that don't want to work or only do a half ### job.
As far as the pay goes you must not've stuck around very long cause the raises do happen when there supposed to.
Cory= yea he can be an ###, but have you EVER listened to the shizit drivers give?? I never would've believed even half of it if I hadn't spent about 4 hrs in New Kinsgtown terminal in the office
UNBELIEVABLE
I deal with Cory all the time and have found we have something in commen , it's call customer service! Neither of us have much sympathy or time for whiner's and complainer's.
As far as miles, how many loads did you turn down?
I have a uniqe situation with Crete and it fits me to a TEE. I run 576 miles a night 5 nights a week and am home when I'm not driveing! Don't get me wrong it's work! I'm there no matter what the weather, and I'm on time. Can you say the same ?Lonesome Thanks this. -

that teach em!! (to fire your sorry butt) Don't take personaly , your just not a good fit for them. Try swift or maybe CRE

I have spoke with many Cretes out here and not one had a bad word to say about them. You're not going to get anything handed to you on a silver platter, you have to work for it like u said. Many the op is just a compulsive complainer and if so,of course Crete won't cater to ppl like that.

Crete and I butted heads hard back in 2009, and I learned really fast they were not the carrier for me. I wouldnt have wished the guy running my midwest regional fleet on my worst enemy, but I still cant really tell you why we couldnt function. Everyone in Nebraska was great...Kansas City? Haha. When I gave notice, they forced me to leave the truck in Knoxville, TN....further from my home than Lincoln.

Crete used to be one of the best co's out there...but...they are no different than the other BFI mega fleets.

I'd never work for a company that advertises..period. Billboards....
Guitar Man and Typhoid36 Thank this. -
I started my trucking career with Crete back in 2008. I had a great trainer and was provided with excellent training. I was on their national account so thought I would stay out for 21 days and get 3 off. Well the economy was horrible back then and I thought I would stay out 4 or 5 or 6 weeks to better my chances of getting large loads. Well being from PA, the farthest I would get was St. louis MO. Then it was back to the northeast. I knew several guys who ran national but resided in GA and they would get out to California and texas and washington. I never saw anything farther than Colorado. I was in WY twice though in the winter.
My breaking point was when I applied for hometime they would send me back to the northeast 2 weeks early and bounce me from OH to PA to NJ to PA etc. I finally got fed up and upon my next hometime turned my truck in and got a local job being home daily. And yes a better weekly paycheck.
Corey was the worst though. When I first started drining for Crete I was picking up a load in PA and sent a message that I didn't have the hours to make the appointment. I was nowhere near my house but this clown thought I was at home and actually called my house and told my wife to get me on the phone. Well let me tell you... I called in to dispatch and gave them a whole lot of my attitude. I then called my terminal manager and gave him the rundown and told him that I will never ever be disrespected like that for any amount of miles or money.
The bottom line is that you do the best you can with a big company, it either works out or it doesn't. If I ever go back to OTR I will definitely call these guys first but that doesn't mean I'll stay there if my wife complains about my paycheck more than once a month.SuperLiner Thanks this. -
Stay tuned for more stuff.

Cory pissed me off more than once. I guess the guy who had something in common with Cory must be the only one. I've never heard one crete say good things about him. I had a older crete driver tell me that he almost beat the hell outta Cory for the way he talked to him. As far as miles here, it seems to be either you run 3000 miles a week(wish I could say I do) or you get bottom of the barrel miles here. Remember, there are no shortcuts here at crete, unless its benefits crete and only crete.
