American Trucker -
Back in VA after running two loads of lime up to Logan, WV for flood remediation. I have found the birth place of 2 things. First, the Hatfield/McCoy feuds and second, Nascar and last the mines. The roads here are nothing but paved logging/mining roads. Very hard to make good time. Average 40 mph loaded, slightly higher empty. Between weather (rain, fog, wind), traffic (little old geesers) and the terrain (Roller coaster logging trails). About 125 miles from shipper to consignee, 4 hours loaded best time return 3+00....Now I really respect those founders of NASCAR running rum from the revenuer's. Don't think they would have envisioned 53 footers with a sleeper pulling them....Hopefully the floods are over and stuff will be cleaned up quickly..
