we had considered that, we are comparing what Cobra would cost vs. the monthly cost of her prescriptions. Just one of them is over $500 for 90 days without insurance...w/insurance it's $75 our cost. Plus there is one that she has to have for anxiety that can cause serious health issues if she doesn't keep on it on a daily basis.
any info on Poly Trucking?

I had a fuel filter clog right as it was due for a PM while I was in the NW. Since I was new I called the shop to see what I should do. Was told to call FLEETNET & let them handle it. Since I was still mobile I called them & told them I would be passing through Boise,ID in about 45 minutes would the TA be acceptable for fixing the issue. Was told yes and was asked for all related info on the truck. Then was told to head onto the TA & while enroute they would call ahead. $5 minutes later as I was pulling to the TA I got a call from FLEETNET to tell me they were waiting for me and gave me a contact name. I checked in and was out in under an hour.
Had the same scenerio had this last trip out. Did not bother calling shop. Called FLEETNET while passing through Albuqurque to give them an ETA to the TA. Again in & out in less than an hour.
When I went through orientation we were told we were expected to operate as if we were an O/O in all aspects. We are given tools to help us achieve the guidelines they want us to follow, but it is up to us drivers to decided how to use those tools. i.e. We are given a fuel book of approved fuel stops. There are primary & secondary fuel stops, but as another driver told me, you can choose to use any you deem neccessary. NO hassles or looking over your shoulders. If there are mechanical issues while on the road you call FLEETNET.
I will leave tomorrow morning on a four stop load going to WI with a final delivery on Tuesday at 1800. Unfortunately my truck is in the shop until sometime next week due to a water pump replacement. So I have to driver a "loaner" (an unassigned truck) for a week or so.
I'll make the statement again that this job feels more like trucking use to be, except having to run legal. But given todays litigious society, I don't mind running legal. Especially if most of my time is taken up by driving at .48 on the hub mile.
Also, I'm really enjoying how nice and accomodating these people are to the drivers. It was said that Poly-Trucking has the view that they are a manufacturer that delivers their own product and not a trucking company. Therefore we drivers are not treated as usefull idiots, but viewed as an important part of an overall process. REFRESHING! -
Yes, that would be refreshing to be part of the team and not just a useful tool.
-
Being treated like a human team member would be an instant upgrade...It almost sounds like Poly-Trucking operates like Wal-mart Transportation does, the driver is an integral part of the overall success of the entire company. -
Is this the same Poly Trucking that has a plant in Cottage Grove, MN???

KingOfHibernia Thanks this.
