My truck got hit..

I saw a truck get hit at a Pilot last Saturday. It happened right in front of my eyes a few feet from me... As I was coming out of the truck stop lobby, I saw a Western Express rolling back... and behind him, there was another truck parked at the fuel bay. I saw Western was getting too close... so I started screaming "STOP! STOP!!" There was no time to run to the Western Express driver and... CRASH!! He hit the front of the other truck... Driver of the truck who got hit came out and I offered to be his witness, gave him my name, phone and described what I saw. Then, another lady driver offered the same. Western driver came out too and asked not to be reported.... saying he had 2 kids and that would affect his job.... But driver who got hit had to report for insurance purposes... he was an owner operator... So, he called police. That kind of stuff really sucks...

 

Wow.... yes that really sucks for all parties involved. We all have to make a living and need to take care of our responsibilities. G.O.A.L is my rule of thumb when backing. Get out and look is always the best. Never assume because assumption is the mother of screw ups.

 

No ending to his story I guess...............

 

I was delivering the other day in...shoot, I don't remember now...but the truck in front of me very nearly got me as he started rolling back while we were in the line for security. I was trained to always see pavement between the top of my hood and the bottom of the ICC bumper in front of me. Saved me a big hassle that day fer sher!!

I'll have to find the receipt to be sure, but I think I bought the system somewhere in NJ. They're cheaper on Amazon.com, but you'll have to pay shipping. And have them shipped to a REAL address, cuz they don't deliver to your truck hehehehe.
