I blame it 33% on Friday the 13th. 77% on MORONS!
When I got dispatch I knew the name but what the heck is this address??? Called after texting and asked "are you SURE there is another company with THAT name there?" He assured me there was, so of I went. No such company and nobody knew anything. 1.5 hours later I finally got told "oh, that was the wrong address"... I wanted to reach through the phone and slap the byatch who said that!!!
Then later I expected 5 big boxes and wondered how I'd get that and the other stuff on the trailer. Turns out it was one box. How in the heck does one confuse 1 and 5???
Anyhow finally drug in home at 21:00.. hope the check reflects how hard I worked today! -
Back home for the weekend.
Was forced off roadway onto the shoulder on a 2-lane highway. Semi was passing a fertilizer sprayer (farm implement), that was half in the driving lane, and half on the shoulder. For a second I felt bad for not hitting the shoulder sooner. Like I said for a second, then after that, not so much. I mean the oncoming semi was clearly in the wrong. Even though I detest farmers driving their equipment on the highways, they are allowed to do so. I cuss them every time I encounter them. I detest impatient drivers that think they can force other vehicles off the road, even more!!!
Oh I didn't take the shoulder until I felt the other driver had a firm grip on his seat, ie; a major pucker factor!! -
Maybe it's the language barrier.... I don't understand what these 3 sentences mean... But never mind...

Some mysteries are better left unsolved..
Rocks Thanks this. -
I'm at Chattanooga, company main terminal for my "hometime". Will sleep in the truck tonight. Tomorrow will check in an extended stay hotel. It has stove, big refrigerator, 2 beds so I can spread all my stuff and paperwork (I have a lot of paperwork to do).
Eaton, what you wrote about impatient drivers that think they can force others off the road reminded me of something that happened yesterday and puzzled me and upset me. I was on the right lane, behind a van which was behind a truck. On the left there was a car that was taking forever to pass me and a line of other cars behind him. The van in front of me was going slower than me so I set my left turning signal on and waited for the car on the left to move on. As soon as I saw a gap, I moved to left lane but the truck and van on the right lane sped up and I had to return to right lane which was ok. But then, after I moved back to right lane, the van slowed down... So, I got close to his rear bumper and tried to pass him again. But the SOB, would not let me....
The idiot kept driving side by side with me. He would let me get ahead, I would turn my blinker on and he would speed up and not give me room to move back to right lane. That got me really upset. I looked at him and started cursing.... He would not look at me but tried to "squeeze" me/ force me off the road.... That Mother F..... That was a very narrow 2 lanes road with no shoulder at all.... I got sooooo mad when I saw him getting closer and closer to the truck as if he wanted to hit me... So, pulled my air horn for a while till he quit that and I was able to finish passing him and safely move back to right lane... There were other vehicles behind us and if there had been an accident, they would all be witness of what that imbecile was trying to do.... But thank God no accident happened... I just got amazed at how stupid and irrational some drivers can be.... don't realize they are playing with their own lives and other people's lives....
Giggles the Original, Eaton18, AZS and 1 other person Thank this. -
honey i am sorry you had to deal with that and that you and everyone else is ok...but that is becoming commonplace more than ever nowadays in trucking...even other trucks do it.....breathe in breathe out....lol

Eaton and Rocks, glad you're both okay, and sorry you had to go through that nonsense. It's not just trucks that it's happening with. I set my cruise at 65-67 and stay in the right lane. There are times I get behind a vehicle going slower, and it never seems to fail that as soon as I try to go around them, they speed up. I drop back into the right lane, and they slow right back down. And I don't care about all the signs that say "Slower traffic keep right"; you can be going 80 in that lane and there will be others passing you.
Eaton, I feel the same as you on farm equipment. I don't mind the fact they are farmers and trying to make a living, but I detest the fact the equipment they use keeps getting wider. If they have to be on highways, then they should have to keep it in a single lane, the same as everybody else. I live on a 2 lane state highway, with no shoulders, lots of hills and curves, and it irks me to get behind this equipment and you're stuck behind them with no way to go around, because they take up half of the other lane.
