Well, they figured out my freight yesterday. They just had to look at what class of mail it was to see if it was theirs. 2nd stop was 3rd class mail, last stop was 1st class mail(same city, different mail sorting center). No wonder the USPS is going broke, what a waste. While I was sitting at stop 2 getting unloaded, I get a preplan. Picks up 30 miles from Greensboro, delivers Wednesday in Shelby IA(which has me wondering if they're bringing me into High Command for another intervention)...but had to be picked up by 1800. Since it was 1700 and I still had 1 more stop, plus had to figure out where it was since Crete's directions lead me to the same warehouse I was currently at, I had to pass. Not happy about losing a 1000 mile 2 day run, I just bit my tongue and watched my 14 hour clock go tick...tick...tick(but I have ways to make it tock....sorry, I couldn't resist). I find stop 3 and back in. This stop only had 4 stacks to unload...and no place to park. So once I felt the unload start, I did my empty call. I am offered a load from north of Charlotte, NC going to Tomah, WI for anytime Wednesday, and the option of picking up the load after my 10 hour break. 1072 miles in 2 days. That'll put me at 2350 by Wednesday (+2 extra stops), so it all worked out ok. But I still haven't gotten my truck serviced, plus all the other crap going wrong with it, and I'll be in WI....gasp, the last time I was there....Walmat d/c duty.... I hope the freight has improved in that neck of the woods. The only real down side is that Wednesday starts a new month, so I guess I'll have to live with 10700 miles for July...but starting August with 1072 miles is a good thing I suppose.

I originally bought one for the 1st APU Century I had with the Airtronics bunk heater. A diesel fired furnace inside the cab compartment made me nervous. (I'm glad these new heater systems are mounted outside now)Then after talking to 4 or 5 drivers that had bad exhaust leaks on these Prostars, including one that had CO poisoning that was almost at a level to cause serious long term problems, I make sure I have freshly recharged batteries in it every month. I mean, one of the things CO poisoning can do is cause brain damage...if it happened to me, how would anyone be able to tell the difference:biggrin_25517:

Well I heard an interesting statement from a driver while I was waiting in line for fuel in Nitro, WV (for 35 minutes before I got to the pump) a Celadon driver claims that they are attempting to purchase Werner...has anyone read or heard any similar claims or news reports?(I heard the same thing about them wanting to buy us a while back, but I didn't believe it)

Well, freight has picked up quite a bit. I made it to Tomah, WI and while I was waiting my turn to check in...I messaged op's about any possible freight issues...I got a positive reply about loads out of that area and a preplan before I was empty. Pick up at a paper plant in Eau Claire, WI deliver midnite Thursday night/Friday morning in Lima(not p&g) 627 more miles + 2 extra stops. The Crete in line just in front of me was picking up somewhere around there headed to K/C...

I kinda questioned it myself, but it could happen. Wiki says Werner is one of the top 5 largest trucking companies in the US...and has divisions in various other countries...I don't think Celedon has that much money...unless they are backed by the federal government....oh wait, the feds don't have any more money either....silly me
