Well, let me say here that the situation has turned out OK overall, though I still missed out. My ex-wife's father took him, and it turns out a couple of my son's ROTC instructors know my ex-brother-in-law (he's a Colonel in the USAF), so the XFIL will have a chance to meet them. So, at the very least, something good IS coming out of this.

Deliver in Greenville, SC in the morning, then home for 4 or 5 days....enough time to completely calm down and really think about my situation. I'm like SSB, though...the checks I get when I'm running at full-strength are better than I ever had at Schneider, and I hate the thought of changing jobs again so soon....yet, all of this could be taken care of with just six lil' numbers this evening.....

It is SOP at CCC to wait until the last minute before planning anything. The fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants dispatch and planning system. I saw about a week of preplanning before I was empty, now it is back to the SOSDD. I often swear they plan for yesterday in the operations department. And the worst part...just a few weeks ago when the preplans were coming ahead of delivery proves that they know how to run things right, but don't do it on purpose...

I stopped donating to the six-number charity a while back. When they went to $2 a ticket...I play the slot machine in my truck(looks like a piggy bank)...it never pays out while I'm on the road, but my wife hits the jackpot every time I bring it in the house. (not to start a political arguement but)I call it my Obama retirement fund...all the change I can save...by the time I'm 200 yrs old...I'll be able to relax and watch the day go by.

Mine is an extra-large MickeyD's cup....emptied it out a few weeks back....almost 50 bucks in change, with no quarters (I keep them separate in case I need 'em for laundry, etc....but having 50 dollars in quarters is probably overkill....)

Well....here is my tale of woe. My POS Prostar (Knock on a doug fir) has been good mechanically for the first 100 thousand. Passed that today. So, no problema con el tractor. More of an operational thing. I am going to leave this generic so as not to incriminate myself..no need to plead the 5th. Prior to delivery, received a Preplan. Start calculating and realized that there is not enough time to complete, so I do not reply.

After completing the delivery (hazmat) I updated all the hours and realized it was even shorter than first imagined (PTI, ARR, Dep, fuel etc plus travel). Offered to p/u load and t-call at one of our yards. I am tapped for my 70. I offered a great solution. Shipper happy..p/u on time, midwest run with no shortage of available drivers and I get to stay in a yard for a 34 to recapture my clock and head to the NW for a necessary HT.

Well, my AM is out for the day???? Stand-in AM ok's pu w/ a tcall to yard. Sweet.

I failed to mention, my favorite sister resides here, so I call to see availability of hometime...WOW, She and hubbie are home...no plans and she is off for the next 2 days with guest bedroom awaiting my arrival.

Got my ducks in a row....then BAMM the anti-duck fire ACK ACK hits the fan...Preplan cancelled by Planner. New Pee plan p/up in OK to deliver to BFE and your hours will expire in the Consignees parking lot...if nothing hits the fan.

When I question the change, as I had accepted the preplan than was CANX'd... reply the planner had to calculate the t-call...DUH. Ain't that your job chum?

Now in Tejas wondering if Packard has the right idea....this ain't my first, or second, rodeo.......ride on!
