Hi folks , I need a tractor and trailer to do the cdl test in snydersville pa , I dont need hours in a classsroom because i have been driving a freightliner rv with airbrakes and trailer for years (no cdl needed) , A few lessons to help me pass the test would be fine though . Is there anyone in the area renting a suitable unit for the test , any help greatly appreciated .

you,ll need a class a licensed driver with you
-
I have a guy with a class A license who will help no prob but i would have to be insured in the penske truck to do the test and i assume penske would want no part of that , I dont know .

most of the schools will let you take the test on thier trucks for a fee
know if you dont have an accredied 120-160 hours with a school most insurance companies will not allow you to be hired
if you already have a job lined up with small company never mind

Dont know about PA, but in Nevada, you cant take test with a rental, call before you spend your money

Thanks for the replys so far , please keep them coming , BTW im not looking for a job driving so again i dont need the school stuff just need a truck to do the test as well as a few lessons to freshen up on the rules and the pre trip inspection,Im not afraid to spend the money either . I see in some states there are companies that will bring a truck to the test center and allow you to drive it for a few hours before the test but cant find any locally . There must be a way without having to do hours in a class . I know how to drive a big rig and have loads of trailer experiance but still need a truck to do the test .

Must be in the farming business??

Double check with the truck rental company. Be honest and tell them your going to use it for a driving test. I can see insurance being the biggest question. I know you mentioned your buddy will drive the truck from the rental company to the DMV. But once your behind the wheel for the driving test, that's a whole nother ball game (I would thing, anyway).
Good luck!!
