Plugs for floor holes?

Depending how long your trip is it's normal to lose up to 1000 lbs due to evaporation and drippage on a produce load. There is no sense plugging the holes. You don't want excess humidity building up in the trailer. And most likely you are heavy and can use the extra room for fuel.

The loads that do need plugged like meat and deep frozen items the shipper will supply cork plugs and plug the holes prior to loading.

I never heard that about the deep frozen loads and Our product is -10 so I know our company doesn't require this. Do those plugs help with getting your trailer down to temp. Summertime is brutal on my unit it reaches -10 only at night. I just learned something new today.

Good point Condo, I had forgotten about that, I also had forgotten about the ice pack chickens, if it would have been that, you wouldn't even want that gunk giving you a bath.

 

Besides those ones earlier in the thread where else do I get them?

 

You can buy large cork plugs, if you have water pressure or other fluid pressure just get a hose clamp and place it out side the drain hose.

If I was to plug a hose would be mandatory, even the coldest can get condensation and in the hose it hardly ever freezes shut. Now door seals can.

 

Your neighbor hood hardware store will sell corks, just measure the hole to see what size you need, corks used to be really cheap.

 

Condo Cruiser is right, so just keep in mind you are going to be dealing with more humidity in the trailer, so proceed accordingly.
