it will go on your PSP if a Uniform Commercial Vehicle Inspection was written up

Tell your company. They are not going to wig out about this one. It happens sometimes. You will probably get a short class on bridge laws and such but thats it.

Been a while since I read that pamphlet. My eyes are bleeding.CAXPT Thanks this.

Like others have said--BE HONEST--not to mention--it is required that a CDL holder inform his/her company and home sate within x-amount of days of receiving any violation--Besides almost every company will run a insurance required license check on their drivers(usually yearly)and no surprises is always better---IMHO
On another note--to all you less experienced drivers here--PLEASE do not quote and or explain bridge laws by stating a CERTAIN HOLE to put your tandems in--while this may be the case with your companies trailers(if they are all the same)--almost every manufacturer has different sliders and many manufacturers have different set-up--The same applies for the amount of weight you move when you slide--I have pulled trailers that move as little as 150lbs per hole to trailers that move OVER 500lbs a hole--So unless the trailer is pre-marked--you have to measure!

OK, everyone screws up now and then. But if you pick up a trailer, you should pre-trip it, and if you had pre-tripped it, you likely would have seen those tandems. I was doing a LOT of drop and hooks when I was LTL, and got in the habit of doing a pre-trip on every trailer I'd pick up.

It isn't really failure to do Pretrip... It's a lack in knowledge. There are some that seem to think the bridge law doesn't apply to empty trailers.
ghettochild Thanks this. -
Must just be my map but it doesn't show a length for the bridge law for south carolina. Must be a new thing within the last few years since I have a 2009 rm map. If it is true they don't have one, personally I'd be fighting it. No telling how many people he has screwed over. If they do have one, my apologies.

Not to mention they look like idiots. I can't tell you how many drivers I have seen in Arlington Tx in the 360/30 warehouse area causing traffic jams because they didn't slide the tandems forward and are stuck because of a telephone pole. True steering wheel holders.CAXPT Thanks this.
