Ill pick up any change i see it all adds up! 10 pennies is a dime, 10 dimes is a dollar ect... I empty my change out of my pocket ever day into a jar and any change i see on the ground i pick up, it adds up quickly! NO IM NOT CHEAP, just frugale
I proved this point to my son one year we where getting ready to leave on vacation, and wanted some extra spending money so i cashed in my change jars for the year at the bank, it totaled out at 1300 dollars

I won't pick up any coin unless it's head's up. I once dropped a dime on the ground. A man told me I dropped it on the floor and when I looked down it was tails up and I told him "I can't pick it up, it's tails up". So he picked it up instead. I have a superstition that a coin laying tails up is bad luck to pick it up, so that's why I only pick up a coin if it's heads.

And I've saved my change in cans/jars too. It does add up.
But without those charts to show how much of it was actually "picked up off the ground" vs pulled out of my pocket.
It remains a problem for Myth Busters. -
I've made it a habit to pick up any coins regardless of their worth, be they on the ground, on a counter top, or in someone's pocket, --- doesn't matter. I figure finding a quarter pays one of my Big truck truck drivers for a mile and a half, ..... unless they're a trainee. In that case it pays for two miles.

Yep sure do, money is money.

Not every time, but probably 70% of it I do...with the exception of pennies.
I usually look down while walking (unless it's a truck stop....I better be looking since half the drivers there are not!). Lots of change over the years, some singles. But no fives...tens...twenties...fifties. Did find a C note on the floor of the bowling center after dollar beer night had ended. Also found a gold chain in the parking lot. Cashed it in earlier this year for around $165.
But mostly, walking with head down has given me a tanned neck. -
I will pick it up as long as its legal tender

Pick it all up but a heads down penny..... bad luck and I'm superstitious.

Well not much luck in finding cash. A few 5's and 10's over the years. Had a driver a few weeks ago at the Petro in Milan NM drop his Visa card when putting his wallet into his back pocket. I picked it up and handed it to him. He paused for a second and almost had to sit down. Said he would really be in a world of hurt had he lost that. He pulled a $20 out of his wallet and handed it to me. I didn't want it but he insisted. Bought a good dinner that night.
Big Don Thanks this. -
Penny is spelled wrong so I didn't vote.
Like other have said Money is Money, I will pick it up If I see it.
