I was wonderin', because I've heard nothing but complaints from the drivers that have PN. I rather like the QC system...I had the very same thing the last 18 months I was at Schneider. I can do the thing blindfolded and really don't mind it at all....except those occasional days when I need "just another stinkin' five minutes!".

Exactly, and sometimes when you least expect it. I had one of those mail deliveries on the Boston Dorchester waterfront last week. I was expecting it to be a total nightmare, but they were as kind as can be - starting off with "back into whichever door you find easiest".

For the most part, yes. The only exception is that some of the agents (Landstar's corporate brokers) have small fleets leased to the company, and hire drivers. But those are few and far between. I would bet 99.9% of the Landstar trucks you see out here are O/O's or small privately owned fleets leased to Landstar

Most of the complaints I have heard were they are slooooow, and the miles shown are short route miles, but when your paycheck gets there, it was paid on practicle, so it's hard to predict you pay acurately. Plus one driver I spoke to on the Kelloggs fleet said his sends one of those criticle reports if his traction control kicks in, or if he hits a speed bump unevenly and the truck rocks back and forth when the wheels are moving.
These wouldn't be all that bad if they could get the cell system to stay connected so there is no lag in getting messages. Plus getting in-cab scanning would be a real plus...no more truck stop scanning...imagine that! I mean, I already have a fairly new all in one printer/scanner so there should be a windows mobile driver for it, all they need to do is activate the scanning option. -
I was doing a net search yesterday to see if a *cell phone * could be hooked up to a ALL-IN-ONE printer , Got up with a company called * Phonelabs * Very nice people on the other end ! Which they said NO ! because the band width is greater coming from the All-In One , but said they were working on it !! I asked for a ball park time frame and they said call back in three months !!!!!!!!

If you have a wifi enabled all in one, and certain android smartphones, there are apps in the play store that you can use to print off a phone. But there is a sight called komando dot com...(kim komando radio goddess) in her app section she has others that the play store might not have. I am thinking about upgrading my wireless router at home, then converting the old one into a wifi repeater...then just use both phone and computer through the router. It's a long way around for the same thing, but my all in one isn't wireless, and I can't find a print server that is compatible.

Well, I am rolling on another load. I delivered my 2 stop in Omaha, then picked up a load off the Council Bluffs yard headed....drum roll please...back to southern Coryland. I deliver Monday morning north of Philly. Other than the destination, I can't complain. 1200 mile weekend, and another 6000 lb load. All this, and I didn't have to step on anyone's toes, get grumpy or even get mildly peeved. In fact, I didn't even have time to get the transflow sheet filled out before I got the preplan

Can anyone suggest another company roughly on par with Crete? I know about Poly, but I was gone from trucking for a few years before coming back recently so don't think I would get on with them (so I am pretty much limited to major carriers).
I was scheduled for home time and told that I would have to switch to an e-log truck when I got back. So I made doctors appointments, etc. Then last night less than 24 hours before my home time started, I received a message that I would have to switch trucks *before* going home ( a whole day process because I have a lot of belongings) and return in the middle of my days off for e-log training (because of the holiday). I live a six hour drive from the terminal and needless to say cannot do two 12 hour round trips while i'm supposedly on 'home' time.
Does the trucking industry still use that DAC file system? I want to do my departure from Crete totally by the book as I have been shocked by their vindictiveness and petty retaliations. I don't have any tickets, service failures, or anything on my record and would like to protect that. Thanks for any advice. (BTW I have around 6.5-7 years experience but a multiple year gap when I went back to college and was not in trucking)Last edited: Nov 17, 2012

Dang, I don't know how to link a Google street view on iPad as you can on PC. I wanted to view the entrance of ConAgra, Vonore, TN (cross of Excellence Way & Deer Crossing), and I guess right at the time the Google car went by, someone dropped their trailer as they were making the turn out of there.
