Not alot of people clicked through to the story, so I will post some here....
So it has been a while since I posted about when my truck named Blu got stolen.
Many people have inquired as to what happened. So its time to tell . Heavy trucks are a unique type of equipment, they are big and not easy to dispose of, misplace, or generally lose track of. It seems its also hard to steal them and get them out of town easily
After filing the police report and submitting the insurance claim, I learned that the insurance company had a 45 day hold period to pay any claims for trucks. When I inquired as to why, the nice person said, trucks stolen in the North are hard to get to Mexico unnoticed, so we wait 45 days with the hope that the truck will turn up. I thought that was plausible, but I needed a truck for the company. So we started the process to buy another one.
Sure enough, I found a cool truck right away. The same Freightliner Coronado, a little newer, a little taller, a litter longer, a waaay bigger engine, waaaay bigger fuel tanks and a bit brighter in color!! I thought to myself, if I arrive in a truckstop with this teal and turquoise thing, the boys will laugh me all the way to the showers. But I needed a truck and it had been a month since Blu was stolen, so I bought it.
To purchase, insure, register, etc and pay all the extra taxes when you buy a truck (subject of a later post) is a herculean and expensive effort. This is especially the case when you are a small manufacturing company. If you are a large trucking company and have fleets of compliance people, no problem, but for me aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahghghghghhghg!!!!
Needless to say, one day after I completed all the necessary steps to buy and use the new truck .my phone rang . the caller ID said, Porter, Police Dept. I immediately had that sinking feeling in my stomach, I now own two semis, and I only need one
The blog has the rest (atten mods, there is no advertising on blog) -
Read your blog, great to see everything worked out. Terrible that your truck was stolen and damaged. Satan, however does look like she fits nicely.

Perhaps some unknown entity had another plan for you. Good to hear it worked out

Good read while I wait at a quarry to get loaded!
Glad to hear everything worked out for you guys! -
Thanks, The new paint job really looks great. People gather around it at the fuel dock and ask questions. We are getting ready to sell "Blu" (as in the character from the movie Old School, and the truck color) and just got the smell out. Yech.
