Well, still sitting here. had one offer at 2.5 hr.s in to my wait. Going the wrong way of course plus it was an impossible delivery since i have no hours left today. So it's been another 2 hours since that offer and I am stuck here for the night. So it's Saturday night NFL action and a nice quite drop yard since these guys have all gone home.

Well, after turning down three pre-plans due to appts that I could not make, I got a load to Cincinnati for 2330 Sunday night. After a 10, I'll be 500 miles from home at noon on Christmas Eve.
If I'm not home for Christmas, Crete can kiss my ###. This will be the last straw.volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
They got me home to South Carolina with no problem. I was in PA on I-80 and got a load that delivers the 26th near Chas SC.

Look at my previous post on this thread. They were talking about me sharing a rental car with a few other drivers to go from Salt Lake to home...I live 50 miles south of Reno. They did manage to find me a load to Stockton that I can take through the house but I've been sitting here in Salt Lake 1/2 a day yesterday and all day today.I can't p/u until tomorrow.
I know that in the past the Christmas hometime went a LOT more smoothly. If I recall they had a guy who's only job was to make it work...and he did!
I can only assume he's no longer there. -
Thank you Jesus I no longer endure the inept communications from the dispatch group at Crete. Reading the trials you guys are going through makes me extremely glad I moved on. I love the personal dispatch system where I am. You have my sympathy.
longbedGTs and 48Packard Thank this. -
Last year was worse. I pulled a load out of Social Circle before they got better at loading. I ended up getting home 1 minute before midnite Christmas Eve. This year...my load was ready when I got to Plant City, and I am sitting at home without a worry about beating Santa here. The 1st time in a couple years I can say that.
rachi Thanks this. -
I look in here every now and then and nothing seems to change. It's always the same drivers whineing and complaning about the same things. If it's really that bad why do you hang around? You know who I'm talking about, ever think you get ignored BECAUSE your a pain in the #####? Or maybe just maybe your miles are down because of the PIA issue and they WANT you to quit? Maybe the problem is more YOU than them?
Just asking. Merry Christmas! -
thank you lord that someone else said that instead of me....lotta waaa waaaa going on here... if it didnt pop up on my email i would try an forget about this thread...

i have GPS, just not cell phone. It's not so much about change as just I don't like to talk on the phone. That's why I used to prefer the qcom - straight to the point without having to #### chat. The reason I got into trucking in the first place is because I don't like people. It was a good fit because most of the time you could be in your own world, undisturbed. But yes, times have changed and Unfortunately Crete's new micromanaging style pretty much requires daily 'conversations'. Theoretically, the qcom should still be the preferred and most efficient communication mode (as Crete still pretends in orientation). But for some reason, now everyone wants to talk on the phone, lol.

Exactly!! Why did they do away with the old system of 10+ years ago? I had great miles and only spoke to my fleet manager and maybe one other office person in Lincoln once or twice in a year and a half. Everything was short and sweet on the qualcom and there was no need for these long back and forth bs marathons. It seemed totally streamlined, no frills, and ran smoothly.
