So, I made it home for Christmas! Thismorning in Nogales, I asked to deadhead to phoenix but they sent me a plan on a load going to mesa delivering on the 26th and I accepted it. Waited for the load to come across the border, but it never came! The border shut down early today and I think they will be closed all day tomorrow. Rellayed that info to dispatch and they let me deadhead b/t to phoenix! Now, it is time to play Santa. Merry Christmas y'all!

Cool! In the end, I think most companies will do their best to get you home, even if means d/h or a low paying load.

I drive for Knight (I know, I know!) and and my DM put together a convoluted plan (Atlanta to Nashville to York Pa to Evansville IN to Mattoon IL to home. Made it home on the 24th by 1300. With smaller companies I have been deadheaded close to a thousand miles. Bottom line is that the people in the offices are (for the most part) people, too, and they will do their best.

Then again, trucking being what it is, sometimes #### happens.

    Merry Christmas to everyone!

Been at it for 2 years on this particular dedicated route and missed every holiday, birthday and anniversary. No more. The pay isn't worth it. We're heading back OTR next month.

Dad just doesn't have that much time left. Gotta have your priorities.

Merry Christmas to all you other drivers working today.

Got to wake up Christmas morning at the folks house, felt like a kid again (wait i am a kid still lol).
Very nice, a driver ended up heading towards my home terminal so i was able to ride with him (only 6 hours), not bad.

Food is in the oven and drinks are being poured, life is great.

    Merry Christmas, drivers!
