Benefits of stainless reefer?

Do what? Do you wear sunglasses?

 

Yes I wear sunglasses, but have you ever been behind one of the new, real shiny trucks.

 

Out on the plains, after a fresh snow too?

 

Yes, never really had a problem. Course we ain't all the same I suppose

 

Unless it is a really gloomy day, sun on snow is pretty bright too if you are out in it a lot or walking.

 

I may not have had the sunglasses on at the time we were behind the truck that time, but did pay attention if husband was behind one again. I know it was annoying, I don't know at the height if it would bother car drivers or not.

 

Sorry, I was actually saying if you were behind one one of those trucks on the plains on a sunny day with fresh snow. I was trying to add on to the brightness. My fault for not being clear.

 

Yes I see what you mean and that is so true. Husband didn't drive out on 80 or 70 much with the other company and it seemed like a lot of the time we were out it was either in snow storm or gloomy weather and occasionally the bright snow sunlight.

 

Another benefit if stainless is that it won't show the scratches as easily as painted panels will. The small tree branch scrathes on my white Utility drive me nuts.

A big downside to stainless (besides cost and extra weight) is that the stainless will hold the heat from the sunlight. This will casue the unit to cycle more or extra insulation to be added. Either way it is a little more money.

With that being said, my next trailer will be a Stainless Great Dane with painted rails and rear doors (so nobody complains about how bright it is as they tailgate me, LOL).

 

Brokers really do not care whether your trailer is SS or aluminum and will not pay more just because of the ultra coolness of SS. I personally love the looks of them, but they are a lot of maintenance. If it boiled down to it and the payments were lower, I might take a SS one but the plain jane original reefer wins. More room for profit if you have a bigger note.
