Hey everyone, starting class on Monday of January 14. I hope everything goes according to plan and have a good experience. The only question I have is on the Iowa CDL permit test. I've been preparing myself since last week and feel ready to take it now. The question is can I take the written test on paper, and also am I allowed to skip a question I dont know?

A skipped question is a wrong answer, so you might as well mark something.
-
Better to guess than leave it blank.

i live in iowa and have not seen any counties using paper, if you skip a question it is a miss. you can get on the computer on google and type in iowa cdl free test. that should help you.
James77 Thanks this. -
Once upon a time you had your choice to take the test on paper or computer but now where I live which is Iowa, the test are on computer. If you wanna skip a question that's your choice but if you click on the next page of the test, you cannot go back to the question you skipped so just take a guess.

Is the written test in Iowa easy compared to other states? Their CDL manual havent been updated since 2005 so im guessing that the questions on the test is old
-
I don't know about it being easier then other states,I doubt it.The cdl practice test online has basically the same questions the test has with a few added trick questions.

I took the Nebraska test but was in class with some IA guys. From comparing notes they seem quite similar. As long as you read the books and know the answer to the questions in the chapters you will do fine. The online practice is a great idea too. Most of the questions are worded just like it read in the book.

On top of this forum you'll see CDL practice testClick on that and start studying.

Iowa must be different from Neb. I tested in Neb & if you want to skip a question, it just cycles it to the end of the test & doesnt count against you. That sucks for you
Pmracing Thanks this.
