Yep.....didn't even mention (I forgot) the MN Co. was mandating EOBR's. Makes sense. Do all these companies think/believe they will lose that many drivers due to EOBR's? I was too young to remember the whole CDL fiasco way back when. I do remember reading about it. Lots of fear/misinformation being spread over that if I recall correctly?

I just discovered Mercer Transportation, and am planning to read through this thread. I do have one question before doing that however. Does Mercer do any van trailer business, or is it primarily flatbed? The reason I ask is that I like what I've read so far, but I'd hate to sign on with Mercer and find that they have so little van business that I'm a lost soul in the sea of flatbeds.
Also, can you make a decent living hauling vans for them? I'm sure the pay isn't as good as it is for flatbeds, steps, etc., but it would be nice to get some idea of what can be expected if anyone can shed some light on it for me. Thanks in advance! -
He didn't volunteer any numbers though. -
personally i would rather be working for a co that will let you do the federal minimum whatever it will be then like landstar who just out of the blue mandates full eobr with e logs and all. we dont know if all that will be a requirement or not yet. congress hasnt decided yet -
i look at the van board occasionally. its not bad. its better then schneiders van rates. but the rest of us still point fingers and snicker at ya. lol just kidding

Im still waiting for them to require sleep apeobna(?) machines if your overweight

If you're ever diagnosed with it and try one you will never want to be without it.
I'm not agreeing that you should be forced into testing by BMI alone though.
I knew I had it when I "asked" to be tested. -
i know i dont have it, my dad had it terribly. he was 140lbs. and wouldnt be required to test. i am 375 and i would be required. my wife has it and she isnt heavy either. i think bmi os the worst requirement for testing. i would imagine if i got tested i would be diagnosed with it since they count how many times you wake up. i have had back surgery and pretty much live with constant pain.of varying levels which causes me to wake up and move a lot when i am sleeping

bmi is a terrible indicator for all medical problems in my opinion. if i was at the ideal bmi for me i would wiegh less then what i did in junior high. according to the chart i was obese when i graduated high school which isnt true i was in great shape i just weighed more then they said i hould have i was 6'2, 230 pounds ideal for football according to the coach
