I am looking to relocate to the Alamosa, CO area and am having a hard time finding trucking companies there. I know they haul a lot of potatoes out of the San Luis Valley area. can anyone give me some trucking company names I can contact. They can be small local companies or large carriers. Thanks for the help.

Thanks, cowboy_tech. I'll check them out. I'm not necessarily looking for potato haulers. I just knew they hauled a lot out of that area.

A lot of the reefer companies haul from there. If you live there, spend a little time at the T/Stops, looking at bulliten boards and watching the parking lots, to see truck names. If you're new, try Central Refrigerated or Navajo.... for a starter company job

Furniture row express. Denver I've lived in Alamosa before and be prepared as it is the coldest place in the lower 48 -20 to -30 a lot in the winter and lots of wind for a sunken valley. Good luck there.

I've seen mostly every major reefer company up there. I know a company named Saunders out of Co Springs hauls potatoes alot - I know nothing about how they are to work for. There's also guys that just haul potatoes around locally - I'd assume that would be somewhat seasonal. There is also a Budweiser distributor in Alamosa if you're into that type of work. Good luck and as Blanche said, it gets mighty cold there. Better make sure you bring your wooley buggers to wear during winter!
