I also got turned down by Millis, I really liked their training program and they seem to be a great company....I liked the fact that after only six months you got a week of vacation. I might look into Roehl......I would prefer to pull reefer or flatbed.....and with roehl they have pretty much a little of everything.

I got turned down. I live in the Albany NY area, am female, 54 y/o, self-employed for the last 10 years (w/ filed taxes to prove it), no felony or misdemeanor, but I did get a DWAI back in 1990. (shame on me). I don't drink or do drugs. One speeding ticket 4 yrs ago.

I figured age, sex, and location had lots to do w/ it. I called to find out the reason, but was told they receive hundreds of applications per week, pick only the best match and was welcome to reapply in 6 months.

    Congratulations g22mac!

Go to a Local Area school DO NOT GO TO A TRAINING COMPANY>>>>>DO NOT LEASE A TRUCK.

all the company that do training are going to push you into a lease, they are going to charge you 3000 to 4000 for school. You can go to a local school for 800 to 1400 and then apply for smaller company's. They will treat you much better and pay you fairly.

Well I would love to do that except I can't get a loan to go to school due to credit. So unfortunetly I kinda have to go to Stevens to get some experience.

Just found your post. I don't know where you went, but here it goes.

Prime will suck the life out of you. CRST are cheap buzzards. FFE is fickle. They can't make the same decision twice. Not bad to run for, but the maintenance is spotty.

Overall, Stevens is the best of these four. They have very good maintenance and good tractors. Their driver don't sit long, but the pay should be more.
