This is a once every two years event at Inn of the Hills that has been going on for at least 20years. Although, not all of these have been in Kerrville. Only this one and the last two or three have been there. But thanks, we always enjoy our time in your corner of the world. When I drive for HEB I would go there almost weekly, & sometimes more often, to make deliveries.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

Well ####, was hoping to get all three drops knocked out today but I don't think I will be able to get the 3rd one off ahead of time as they apparently shut down early today so will be stuck in BFE for tonight and finish with the last 4 pallets in the morning. Anyone ever stay overnight at the WM just one exit from the WMDC in Beaverdam, WI? Thought about staying there or the Menards next door overnight so I wouldn't have to start my day early tomorrow if possible.

How did you like driving for HEB? When I lived in Houston I really wanted to get on with them.

You'll be 20 miles from me Sunday night...I'm at home in Clinton. The closing on our new house was suddenly and quite unceremoniously quashed Friday afternoon....yes, just two days prior to schedule....due to a new FHA/HUD regulation. Un-flipping-believable things our government does. So...vacation for a week, uncertain of being able to get into the new place this week or whenever....looks like apps are going to have to wait a little longer.....gotta love it, but I don't.....

Your actual amount you pay taxes on tho is less, isn't it, due to the per diem reduction? So in that sense, your Social Security Wages would be based on what, 1/4 less than this $65K? Or showing you 'made' $49,000 or so. Sure you 'make' the whole amount but for future Social Security base, and any Convalesence pay it would be based on the lessor amount, is the way I understand it. Then of course you won't be able to write off that $59 per day per diem Deduction, since you get what, 15cpm? as per diem at Poly? So, you end up paying a couple thousand at the end of year more than if you were not paid the per diem. Per Diem, it isn't for everyone. Still, making .48 and I can deal with it.

Is nice pay tho, if one can get it. -
I did the Crete popup fleet at Beaver Dam back in July. The guy that did the orientation said we were allowed to stay there since we were an adopted part of the Walmart family. Since you're delivering to the same d/c, I don't see why they would have an issue with staying there. I'd just stop and pick up something, then 'accidently' leave the bag on the dash.

It was/is a good local driving gig with well above average pay for local work.
I left to fulfill my desire to be an O/O. There are times I wish I was still there. However I'm extremely happy where I am today.Dinomite Thanks this. -
You are partially right in your assessment of income. I plead the 5 th on what you are wrong about.

Thanks SSB. Took a solid 6.5 hours to get out of the Target in DeKalb. For those that might deliver to the WM DC in Spring Valley, IL and are on the old E-log there is a small, closed up store about half a mile north of the DC that has room for a couple of trucks for overnight parking.

this is to JD:
lol. What I am wanting to know is how per diem affects one's W-2, is my question. Does your W-2 on Line 1 and line 3, show for example in your case, the $65K you made?
I'm of the belief that when per diem is part of pay, that it won't show up on that Line 1 and 3 as part of the Gross amount. true or false? thx
