    Hi guys,

I am starting a new business. I will be running reefer out of seattle and do mainly the 11 Western grossed out at 80k. I've got it narrowed down to either a cascadia or pete 387. I will go either 2009 or 2010; f cali...

My question is what would be the best rear end setup for my case. I will be focusing on improving fuel mileage.

I don't race up hills and have never gone past 65mph. I usually am in the 57-60 mph unless I am stuck and got to pass a guy on a bicycle...

    anyways,

since i will be in the west and have to deal with the mountains regularly passing through to tx, az....what would be the best rear end ratio with a 13spd?

3.36 seems a bit low; maybe 3.55? not really sure, I haven't driven them...

if i were to go 10spd what would be the ideal rear end for that setup?

I'm with you on F- California. I hate it here...but the freight pays good.

I'm guessing you're lack of desire for California is Carb Compliance? If so, how long until Oregon and Washington follow suit?

    Just tossing that out there...

Once again. Those trucks will likely have the dpf only system and you can bet on waking up to a nightmare every day. Either comply with the def+dpf system or don't comply at all. You would do well to average 5 mpg with the mountain driving on a dpf only system.

    I run a dd s60 w/ 13spd and 3.42 when

Once I had the engine tuned it came alive.

Either skip the epa07 engines or expect to pay for them in poor fuel economy. Get am epa10 or newer if you can swing it.

My truck has 3:36s. Never really had a "pulling" issue. Find the sweet spot and ride it out. C15 CAT gets 5.5 avg w/an 18spd. A friend of mine purchased a new truck w/def system and its turned off twice, in traffic. Oh what joy.

    Gentlemen.....thanks for the info...

I should clear things up...I will be running California...that's why I have.to get the newer motors....that's why I said.f Cali....
Yeah it's a matter.of time before Oregon and Washington follow...

I really don't want to get a dpf system but like you good freight in and out of Cali...and even if I don't pick or drop in Cali I.still gotta drive thru sometimes...that's why I need to get dpf...

I figure that all the i5 runners will end up trying to stay out of Cali thus leaving freight behind for the.dpf truck
