I start school for Steven's Transport Tomorrow at their training academy at Lonestar College in Houston. What should I expected to be doing on the first day of class. I have already passed all my written DPS Test for Cdl (Special Req, Air Brakes, Combination Vehicles, General Knowlege, and Pre-Trip). I would like some advise as to what to expect the first day from anyone who has first hand knowlege. Also a little off subject, Is there alot of loads coming to Houston for Stevens. Is getting home time a problem living in Houston? I know that I must plan to be out 3-5 weeks at a time. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Starting school tomorrow on 2-18-2013 at Lonestar in Houston!

I am planning to attend this course in the next few months. Very interested in what you experience. Please keep us updates.
Be well -
School is going great! Start day 4 tomorrow. Still have not drove the truck yet but I believe we will tomorrow. The instructor I have is great and makes it easy to understand what you need to know. He makes me feel more confident that I can do this being I am as green as they come and never even drove a standard transmission vehicle. I am due to graduate on March 8, 2013 and head to Stevens on March 9th if all goes well with school! I can't wait to get my hopefully long career started!
Stilgar Thanks this. -
Great update! Thank you and please keep them coming.
How many students are in your class and what make of truck are you driving?
Be safe! -
There are about 10 students and we are driving kW t2000's
-
10 is pretty good class size. Thanks for the update.
-
How did the school work out for you? Any issues? Would you recommend it?
Thanks, -
Passed my cdl test. Great school! Definitely would recommend!
-
Congratulations!
This is great news!
I made some calls to them and it sounds like they run two schools. The Lone Star College six week program (using Volvo's) and the three week program for Stevens. Sounds like there is a waiting list for both. I am leaning towards the six week program.
Any thoughts on the above?
