I thought that I would ask on here first so I wouldn't look like a buffoon when I asked my boss for a position in which I have no expierence in. Unfortunately for me I don't have a Class A license right now and one of my co workers that was in the same job position that im in now just got the job because he just got his Class A license and he's already in the training process. My boss told me when I get my class A license I will get the same treatment.![]()
Is it possible ?

OBTW, I did not mean for that to read that you should not have asked on here. Poor choice of wording, on my part. I just meant that the company is the best line of information on a particular question that has to do with the company.
OK, you now know what you need to do, to get the job, so start working on your class A. Perhaps your company has a third party examiner that can give you the road test, if you can get your learner's permit. If not, you can probably find one through the driver's license division, that would be willing to test you for a few bucks. Don't tie up hundreds of dollars in a driving school, if your company will train you for nothing!
NOTE: Having a Class A, and being "trained," are two entirely different things!Rolloff Truck Driver and ACH1130 Thank this. -
More often than not, companies promote from within IF a position becomes open before they chance it with a new hire. I'd be surprised if you didn't get the position.

At least you know now. Most companies would rather "promote" one of their guys then hire off the street, especially if your in good standing

YRC just called me the other day, she was just asking me questions about why I chose the company and what I knew about it, and explained what the job was about and how much I would be getting paid....kindve like an interview i guess. IM SO EXCITED!! She told me a hiring manager would be in contact with me within a couple weeks to schedule an interview. My question is this...Do u think theyve already reviewed my application and work history? And r satisfied with it? And thats why there setting me up with a hiring manager. Or do u think theyve yet to call up former employess and will do that when they call me in for an interview? Just wondering cause my work history isnt squeaky clean,i mean its not horrible but I was fired from a job about 4 years ago. So im trying to figure out what my chances r for gettingh hired.u think theyve already pre-hired me? Oh and one more thing....she asked about my MVR I told her it was pretty good, 1 speeding ticket about close to 4 years ago, but I had quite a few of them 7 years and back. Anybody no what there MVR qualifications are? Any help would be greatly appreciated.thx. kindve stuck in a bind cause I got companys that want to hire me now, but there no YRC if u no what i mean, and if I wait fir YRC and I dont get hired than my other choices might be gone!

To anybody who works for YRC:

Well my last accident was 6 years ago back in High School. I have two accidents with YRC, taking a mirror off a cop car that was illegally parked. He was cool and admitted it, and took down lines after hurricane sandy.
My work record was the cleanest either. I walked off the job at con-way, and my experience with FedEx ground wasn't great either, quit on two contractors. I was lucky how we have a few guys from CWF who had been fired/walked off so the TM knew what it was about. I had a call from the TM to set up an interview and road test. The following week I had a drug test, and that's when they started to do the background check. I guess it helped I'm a volunteer firefighter for the past 8 years. Even my old TM after the first month hiring me said he's glad he got me in there.
if you were fired/quit on a LTL job normally other companies know about them and just hire anyways. What will you be doing, city or road. I was a city now am a road(if you told me before sorry I forgot). Anyways good luck and feel free to ask me any questionscbra66 Thanks this. -
I appreciate it!...anybody else with more advice would be great! Im just afried theyll look at my work history and not
hire me. I mean its not that bad, like I said I was fired about 4 years ago from a manufacturing job (it was horrible...worst job of my life) for what they considered a safety violation, apparantely not sighning out my lift-truck check list is a safety violation and termination, though nobody even inspected there lift truck and just signed it off.but whatever. And I resigned recently from a truck driving company, but I went out on good terms....just had some personal things I needed to fix. Guess im just wondering if I got a shot. 10 months otr, all endorsements, and im a hard worke, good attitude, etc.I never in my life worked for a good company and I hope I get the chane with YRC, it would really change my life with what there offering me.it would be roaddriver which im really excited about!! Union. Ive been really depressed lately because I didn't want to just work "for another trucking company" and be even more depressed with there low pay and the way some of them treat there employees. Getting this job would get me out of this hole im in and change my life!....man I really hope theyll hire me! -
not sure where you live, but some areas run teams and others have you out for days. My terminal Ive been home everyday usually 350-500 miles per day. Must do 6 trips before granted time off. I got hired with only 8 months local experience when I applied for P/D position. I had more experience but coulnt verify it as i was paid off the books plus was only sometimes i would work. Im a road driver at a terminal I had transferred too. Line-haul is where its at. At a point if yoy had a beating pulse they would hire you as we were short a lot, just got 8 guys
Dont mention your doing it for the pay, they wont like to hear that. And yes i wasnt doing so well before I got on with YRC, now im doing a lot better
