OP said he's been hauling a flatbed so I'm sure he'll be sensitive to their need for quiet uninterrupted sleep. Or not.

Yeah, I'm thinking that with no chains, tarps, or straps this may feel like I'm on vacation, Since all our freight is no touch, or so they say. We will see. Thanks for the tips.

Don't know if you've pulled a dry van either, but since you're used to a skateboard, open the doors slowly when loaded. It can be something that's easy to forget even when you do it everyday. Just because you threw a load lock up doesn't mean it held the load up.
Make it a habit to look at the unit for the temp and fault codes every time you stop even if it's for 30 seconds to pee. Don't freak out if the temp is a little high, it may of just defrost and you'll most likely not notice the different tone at first while driving since you're not used to it.screamin eagle, g.o.a.l, aiwiron and 1 other person Thank this. -
Get yourself a good LOUD alarm clock..you're probably gonna need it

Good luckRedForeman Thanks this. -
Deliver to a couple of grocery warehouses & you will quickly go back to flatbeds. If you've ever seen the movie, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" , with Jack Nicholson, that's what's it's like in a grocery warehouse.

I did refeers for a few years. Its not bad. First and most important in my books. Double and triple check the temp requirments>>>>>REQUIRMENTS. I say this because I have seen loads where the bills will say 35degrees but than get to the reciever and they wanted and required it to be at 30 and reject the load. So always check the bills and the load info from the broker or your company and bring up ANY DIFFERANCES. Second You asked about pulping a load. Get yourself an infrared thermo and a old pulp gauge( At most truck stops) If you have to pulp most want the front middle and end pulped. 99% of what i hauled did not require me to pulp but not saying you wont have to. As for the trailer itself. keep her fueled up I always ran my on on/off auto start, even with ice cream i did it that way. never had a bad load. just dont forget when backing to watch your overhang. and remember 34000 lbs and trailer not 40000 lbs....lol Good luck and be safe
