Your dang right the XM is more important than the Cee Bee! What a worthless contraption the CB is. Trash talk, racial insults, people talking about their riding mowers.....Good grief.

There is nothing courteous about the big lights.
-
By "dimming" the lights, I assume that you are referring to the momentary off position? Thats an easy solution for someone that cares.
As for not needing to flash someone, you are correct. Chances are that you dont need to flash your lights but it is common courtesy to do so as its common courtesy to flash your lights in return. But I know that common courtesy is practiced very little these days.Wargames Thanks this. -
I remember my dad flashing the headlights back in the 60's. From what I remember it was common to do so. So, was it the bottom feeder companies back then? Who were the bottom feeders?

When I first started driving, it was Big R (Roadway)...well, everyone use to pick with them. Then that one fateful day, a JB team truck was driving down the road when someone radioed him about his doghouse was open. He set the cruise and leaned out the door and tried to kick the doghouse closed. He fell off the truck and got ran over. Everyone heard about that incident. Soon after that, a JB was running through Mississippi and went into a median and hit a bridge. One cut his wheel at Cuba,Alabama and went on a field trip. They had to peel the remains out of the truck. JB had a rash of fatal accidents, one right are another.
Funny thing is, when I started, after BusterBrown, the biggest company out there was Covenant. JB and Schneider had lot of trucks on the road, but neither had more than Covenant. Prime trucks ran 77mph everywhere. BusterBrown was slow, and R&R was fast.
Thats a company I never hear anyone talk about. What's the deal with R&R, anyway? I think it's R&R... They have everything, day cabs and sleepers. They're based out of Ohio, right above Cincinnati on I71, near that Kings Island park. They've slowed the trucks down 5 years ago, but they still seem to be a pretty solid company.Wargames Thanks this. -
R&L, they're still there and prospering, the have a monopoly at exit 50 there. Terminal, mall, hotel, lots of property! Go by there every Wednesday and Friday and they're burning it up!
TripleSix Thanks this. -
R&L! That's them. I wonder why when people ask about van companies to work for, they don't get mentioned. They're huge, got lots of freight, rare to see them sitting in truckstops or ditches, trucks are now here's as fast as they used to be, but they still better than average. I mean, freight, and decent equipment...doesn't that count for anything?
Wargames Thanks this. -
Decent equipment as far as I can tell, they run mostly wiggle wagons pullin with day cabs. Road tractors are team trucks, they usually run around 72 mph, day cabs are 65 mph truck unless they're in the one that got the motor replaced that runs through Asheville nc on Wednesday morning that always takes my doors off when I'm on my way back into Louisville lol they never turned that truck back down
Wargames Thanks this. -
my truck has the momentary off for headlights and marker interrupt button, both get used judiciously. More often than not I get nothing return but that's ok, still feels like the right thing to do.
Wildhorse192001 and nascarchuck Thank this. -
Same here AZS, not a truck passes me that I don't interrupt my headlights for and not a truck interrupts for me that I don't thank. However, if I get highbeamed, I will return the favor as soon as I get the chance. All other arguments aside, I hate it at night, don't mind as much during the day. Interrupt em, or do nothing. I don't need help, but if you insist on doing something, please be courteous about it and don't friggin blind the crap outta me with your insanely bright high beams at night!!
AZS Thanks this.
