Just leaving Twin Falls Idaho. Had a very social day yesterday. Stopped to have breakfast with a friend from the company at Shelby Montana , then caught up with another friend from the company at Butte Montana and had a good chat over the CB all the way down to Pocatello Id. He continued south and I swung west from there. Now heading on down to California.

They giveth and they taketh away.
My first thing was over 4k pounds from newish customer to airline.
Then get asked if I got the text about 2k to Air France. 10:30 cutoff.
    Then another Air France 740#.
As I arrive AF, get called saying forget 4k.
And so nothing since I sent empty at AF.
And sitting around the corner from SDV.
    Waiting.

Well... I am still taking my "home time".... since last Saturday, load planner had given me a great load, leaving terminal next Friday, picking up in Atlanta, Ga and then going to 2 places in south TX... it would be about 1400 miles... But I wanted to be back in the truck on Saturday morning and have at least 5 business days to take care of my things... So, I asked if it would be possible to p/up on Saturday morning... Although I knew I might lose that load cause I know the shipper in Atlanta doesn't work on Saturdays... :biggrin_25513: So, anyway, they gave the load to another truck... :biggrin_2557: Well... told them, I don't mind sitting in the hotel a couple more days if they can find me another great load for Monday... already padlocked and king pin locked a great WM trailer... it's sitting in the yard and waiting for me... I just hope they don't give me a broker load or a load from another account... But, we shall see...
Went back to company today... talked to some folks... and will be going back tomorrow for a log class on this new HOS :biggrin_25510:

the only thing i see as relevent in the new hours
is a 34 now has to include 2 periods between 1-5 am
so if you start a 34 at 8 am you will really be off 45 hours
and only one 34 a week
but that doesnt matter anyway you will have plenty of hours anyway

the other thing is no straight 11 hours of driving
must take a 30 minute break in 8 hours
    that is easy for me

Yes... :biggrin_25510: and will delay delivery... p/up.... run less... :biggrin_25510:

For me, any hr matters... so, if I have to sit longer and will not gain anything by taking two resets in a week... I feel like I am losing even more... :biggrin_25510:

Well... Yippee yahoo to you... For me, it's going to suck... :biggrin_25510: I don't sit at customers a lot, like to run non-stop, only 15 mins for fuel and all my deliveries are ASAP... So, now I will have to include siting at a ramp somewhere for 30 excruciating mins just waiting... and wasting even more time.... As if this darn e-log wasn't enough limitation, and truck not going faster than 65 mph and the traffic jams, and lack of good places to park when I need... :biggrin_25510::biggrin_25510::biggrin_25510:

Told log lady today... I wonder if my company will go team only eventually.... she said it will affect even teams... :biggrin_2557: I bet it will affect the whole industry... and you know what? I hope it does. I hope it hurts the industry soooo bad that they will have to repeal this thing. But I wonder... :biggrin_25513: I am not happy about this at all... :biggrin_25510:

it really just seems to me it will make more trip planning diffucult
so as not start a 34 too early in the day

i always take a break during my 11 anyway
too old to drive without stopping
the 15 minutes you fuel can be considered not driving
according to transam so just another 15 at the TS covers it
again that is according to transam

if you go offf duty while at a shipper during your day that counts too

i only took 2 34's that were because i was out of hours
    i like running on recap
when i go to another carrier my perspective might change thou
