I didn't get a chance to review all the catagories, but starting with the unsafe driving, most of those violations are seatbelt, speeding (in a 63 mph truck), and disobeying a traffic control device which is anything from running a stop sign, illegal turn or even parking in a no parking zone.
Not really all that bad when you consider they other violations that they could have been. Now looking at the driving under the influence catagory, we are lower than 80% of the other carriers of the same catagories. And that in itself says a lot. We may not park legal, but we drive sober...lol -
You know, I've had 3 Level III inspections in the time I've worked for USA and not once did I get any log or other paperwork violations. In fact, I've been praised each time on the neatness of my logs. I'm not a DOT officer, a Safety Dept "expert", or a long time veteran driver, but I'm convinced that a lot of the violations could be avoided if some drivers would just clean it up. When I say that I mean, I've seen log books that look like a kindergartener filled it out with a black crayon. I've seen lines that look more like a parabola than a straight line. In fact, last time I was in Van Buren to pee in a cup for the Safety folks, they were doing a log book audit/review on another driver and I could hear Alicia telling the guy "You know we issue free rulers in Orientation right? Do you own one and know how to use it?" Lol! I mean, c'mon....I've seen flaglines that look like spore pods growing off mold, and the writing is a cross between doctor's shorthand and Arabic.J_FROG and Thomas0810 Thank this.
