Have CDL for 20 years but no experience.

You might have to go back and at the least take some refreasher course. But I'd be checking with every company I could think of and ask them. Don't just send in an app. email would be best (for the record) at min. call them.

 

You could always lie worked once for a friend of mine should work for anyone he was always a few bricks short of a full load and he pulled it off

they'll need verification though.

plus, he'll have to learn how to do logs. and operate a qualcomm or whatever.

don't matter if you've been driving or not. off the road 3 or more years. and you have to take a refresher.

i got lucky and found a company that would hire anyone with a cdl A. they also don't use qualcomms. but allowed the use of computer logs. to which i bought a program. that not many use. the rules changed since i was first on the road so the computer program helped me relearn logs.

 

Do like I did in a similar situation, find an owner/operator that is looking to train a codriver. Some companies will train you and assign a trainer, but finding an O/O might be a great solution to get experience under your belt.

 

Buy someones old logs and re write em for two years, and .....HA i dont know
