I went to two of those mines and carried huge bags of that black powder crap. I remember they gave me MSDS sheets but I can't remember if I had to placard it. For some reason I seem to recall that one place gave me placards and the other not, even though it was the same stuff. I remember the warnings said not to breath it. But there was no way to avoid it when sweeping out the trailer because it left super pungent soot/dust on the floor and the walls too. That's another weird thing about trucking. No one will know or care when I develop lung cancer or some other weird condition from that 10 years from now. I had to leave the mt trailer open overnight too because I knew the next place would probably refuse if they caught a whiff.

Holly H-E- DOUBLE TOOTH PIC. I'M A MILLION SELLER. And it only took 5+ years.

Yo SS, how the hell you doin'. Shut down in a snow storm? And I'm already running the house AC down here in sunny AZ dealing with 100 degrees.

Congrats on the new addition to the family too. Not that we need any more SuperSnacks in the world :->

Nice to see you're still around and doing good.

The wife has been running the a/c as well, but I've been running the heater up until this week....I think the world has turned sideways with all the crazy weather...kinda makes ya wonder what the summer is going to be like.

With luck, the snackbar curse won't transfer to the females of the family...my daughter and her kids don't seem to have it, and my son and his fiance aren't likely to have any more kids...so maybe it'll stop w/him

Keep in touch, hope things keep rolling along great for ya...it's sosdd over here for us Cretins

As ya can see, we've done our best to keep the ole' thread chugging along...it's almost to 1 million views

I know the feeling...until the last 2 trips, I was starting to call Chicaoland home. At least a couple times a week I was in or thru there. I'm sure I'll pay for this, I've decided to stay out until my doctor visit in June when I'm taking a week of my vacation to recover from his handy work. Usually when I push my rdo out that far in one big chunk like that...the crap hits the fan and I don't get any decent weeks, but I've got to do this before I chicken out.

no placards and the lady told me a couple of times it was not hazmat. plus no smell. the video they make you watch did say there are some classes of materials out of there that did require placards.

The last time I del. here a Creten said he had a later appt. but was there early and they took him on in. So I left about 3 hours early only to get here and find four other Crete trks ahead of me:biggrin_2557: So much for an early delivery. Here I sit watching a couple more Crete trucks come from the backside of the plant having unloaded already. Sometimes you win sometimes you don't.

Please give us an update on if you have become fabulously wealthy or what. And how much better is life away from trucking? Do you ever miss it? Because of this thread, you are a legend to many of us who don't even know you. Thanks.

Got word earlier that my AM is taking a different job at Crete. And my MIL fell and broke her hip today, her 77th birthday.

Yeah...things just keep getting better and better.

Sad to hear about the MIL. Hang in there and keep looking for that silver lining....something somewhere will be a positive.

About the AM. I had a different one answer my query the other day. He said he was covering my AM's trucks. Maybe a trainee. If so my AM is fairly decent and all in all a level headed guy so hopefully the new guy will be properly trained.

No wonder your miles went down hill. It must be a stressfull job being an electronic receptionist...I mean an AM. They're dropping out quick. I wonder how long before they scrap the whole system because it sure doesn't seem to be working like they intended
