100 hrs is the minumum I believe, it normally works out to around 130 hours for all my students though before they are ready to test.

75 is the minimum. Average is a hair over 100. Maximum is 300.

"Most" schools put you behind the wheel for 160 hours. What you get at Prime is 1 on 1 time with a certified CDL instructor. "Most" schools you share that time with 3 other trainees.

Make sure you check out the facts...

At my previous job, I had a driver who got his class A from one of the "better" schools in the area. It took him six weeks to get it, and cost $9000.

One of the features of the school was the "200 hours of in-truck instruction". Of that 200, 150 of it was sitting in the sleeper watching someone else drive. The truck never went more than about 50 miles from the school, and they spent one day on highway driving. Every 45 minutes or so, they would switch drivers. Each driver would get two driving shifts per day. He never parked in a dock; all backing practice was with cones in a parking lot.

The entire school was aimed solely at passing the CDL test. He said that if he was hired and put into a company truck, he'd have no idea of what to do.

I know for me personally I was out about 6 weeks (well actually 5, I got stuck in flordia due to trainer issues for a week) and had 175 hours when I tested....with prime they watch how you prohress, if they can tell your learning, but just a bit slow, they will give you some extra time to get youpast the test

Thanks Jamie for clearing that up, I know the training sheet says 75, but when I went through the PSD instructor class they said 100, but that was awhile ago lol.
