Well, your going to love this one. With the worst and coldest winter on record this trucking company is worried about their idle time. Not that the drivers are safe on the road or that they are getting good sleep while it is cold outside but how much the truck is idling. And if you don't get your idle time down to 10% or less they are going to give you 2 days off and then termination. They say that this is the company average but this includes not only the over the road drivers but also the regional drivers that come home everynight. One driver went to talk to Dave Seaton, Director of Operations and he had the nerve to tell him to buy a sleeping bag and then wake up every 4 hours and run the truck until he got warm. Then they just gave two drivers two days off because their idle time for the month of January was too high. These guys at Ward Truckload Express are not very educated on driver fatigue and sleep patterns. Don't they know that you need at least 7 hours of quality (undisrupted) sleep to be well rested to drive on these roads or to do your job, period. They really care about their drivers. NOT!!!! This is inhuman, we even bring our pets in from out in this snow and cold but I guess Ward thinks less of their drivers(which they would not have a company if it wasn't for the truck drivers) then animals. So you can say what you want about other companies; lying, not giving you miles, etc., but this one in my opinion is the worst I have ever heard of, they won't let you run your truck when it is single digits out. This company has hit bottom!!!!!

You should ask Dave Seaton if he has heat in his office. Maybe he should only turn it on for 15 minutes a day to save the company some extra $$, and the rest of the time he could sit at his desk in a freaking sleeping bag.RoughHouse and fancypants Thank this.
