they may not ticket you but you will be hasseled. If i had that load I would make the fifth wheel move it doesn't take that much to do if the locking jaws have air to them it will move.

Hey-How are you?I wouldn't think by the time you get to Lordsburg it will be that big of a problem. You should burn about a pound a mile off.If you have pre pass that might help you get by.Don't stop at the next exit(Flying J/Pilot.There's weigh-in-motion when you get back on.I think you'll be ok.Take care.Brian

I think you'll be fine. If not, just siphon some fuel in the parking lot when they give you an option to move the freight around. Might need to figure the price of fuel vs cost of ticket to see which is cheaper. I really doubt you'll run into problems. I got an 800 over the other day. I asked if I could step out of the truck and lift up on the bumper to get it closer. They said, "Nice try."

Is that like the old chicken hauler that kept stopping on the side of the road beating his trailer to keep half the load flying?

40 pounds. but your a total of 600 on your axles. slide the trailer back. now your 600 on the drives.

i'm guessing you lowered your landing gear to take the weight off the drives before sliding the 5th wheel? don't know you but most people don't realize that the 5th wheel won't slide with the weight fully on the drives.

a 5th wheel that don't slide. and you've let it go for 3 years. instead of fixing it. and now your in a jam.

i had that problem once. i disconnected the trailer and pulled from under. sprayed lubricant on the 5th wheel. used the whole can. and beat it with a hammer on the sliders. company didn't care to fix it. so why should i care. but i got it to move. and lock back in.

    desperate measures.

or you could run around the scales.

Lmao. I bet they never get the same reading twice with a chicken hauler with active chickens and big cages.

Diesel weighs roughly 7 pounds per gallon depending on the temperature. It's roughly 220 to 250 miles to lordsburg from Nogales. You may still be over but this will help.
