Oh yes... I am at the back of a Walmart store in PA taking my 10 hr break. Ran only 361 miles today... Went to same shipper twice and delivered at 2 WM stores. Will go back to same shipper tomorrow for the last time (Thank GOD) and will do two drops at Walmart stores in MD. Then will rush to next shipper in MD, if they will be still open...

Is that all? I could do all that, put in a 9 hour day at work, then stick the broom I ride to work up my arse and sweep the floor while I was at it.

Got pressed into the moving crew today. What'd I do to deserve punishment at hard labor? :biggrin_2552: Oh yeah... I exist in the right place at the wrong time! :biggrin_2555:

Fortunately, dispatch has rescued me. Got favorite take-out Tex-Mex, with ultra hot chili, got trailer... just waiting for the afternoon traffic disaster to dissipate. Going to Monte Vista CO for taters, and pulling them to mid Tennessee.

Some moron really did his level best trying to get me to T-bone him today... faked slowing down for a stop sign, then floored it making a left in front of me. Very beat up econo-mini from the 90's. That's a real common scam in the Denver-metro area... illegal immigrant trying to hit the litigation jackpot.

You didn't spend much time at home. Was that just luck that you got through the area, or was that planned time there?

I swear, some people will do anything to get money without having to work for it. They'd much rather taking it from a working person.

It would seem more like you're stuck with us :biggrin_25523: No storms in this area, yet. Supposed to start tonight and last through Friday night or Saturday. We've already had 7" of rain since this weekend. We don't need any more right now. I hope your storms aren't severe, but keep an eye to the sky just in case.

I didn't do any paperwork on my last 4 delivery tickets and STILL didn't slide in home until 20:10.

And P)(*&^%&*()_(*&^*()_+)(*&^%*()_ I have to be in Stafford, TX at 8AM with the trailer.
It is only 26 miles in a straight line and maybe 29 to 31 actual. But it is on the opposite side of town from where I am starting. And Houston traffic ain't a BIT of fun.

So one more thread and I'll be asleep.

Took wife to doc. When she woke up this morning she said she's feeling a lot better and probably wasn't going to go. However that changed, especially since she had an appt with her chiropractor. The concern was possibly a cracked rib. If so, a bone-cruncher could do some serious damage, like causing a rib to puncture a lung. So she conceded. They done a couple of X-rays and thankfully no cracked ribs showing. The doc is still going to have the rad-doc view them to make sure he's not missing anything. This is a real good doc. He was also taking care of mom-in-law, and is planning on attending the funeral. How many of you have docs that will do that? Granted this is a very small town too.

We missed most all of the weather so far. Looked at my rain gauge this morning, only .5 inches. We could use some of your 7 TB. We were put into a severe T-storm warning around 9:15pm to last until 9:45. Storm was moving very fast, 50mph. Glad they warned us... we got a brief rain shower, that's it. Seems like the storm out ran itself. Oh well better than the severe variety, or a tornado.

Will head back out tomorrow morning, probably hauling rock or sand out to Mac or the Great Bend area, don't know yet.

    Rocks,
Can't imagine what that would be like. Taking 2 weeks for such a thing. When wife called me yesterday, just the time I took to load and deliver 2 loads, not getting home until 10 hrs later was bad enough. For me it's always been, that I've had the ability to immediately respond. For a former LEO, I guess that gets permanently ingrained, to respond ASAP no matter what. You go now, get there before if possible, know what I mean?

I've always thought that a single child family in the end is really kinda sad. My mom is an only child, my dad not so. However on my dad's side all are gone including him. My mom is the last on her side. I never new either of my real, or paternal grandfathers. My dad's father passed away when my dad was only 17. On mom's side, he left my grandmother while mom was just a young girl. The first time I saw him at about 16 yoa, was the first time that mom saw him or spoke to him since she was a little girl. Until I was around 20, I was lead to believe my mom's step-father was my real grandfather. Grandmother didn't remarry until I was around 2yrs old. So anyway that all I guess is to show how a family tree can shrivel up rather quickly. For mom's sake, she did have 4 children, 3 of us are left. We all had 3 children, so mom even though she was an only child, has a lot of grandchildren and a few great-grandchildren.
