Perhaps a Cardinal, a Rabbi, a Monk, a Cleric, and even a Juju medicine man...cover all the bases...one of them has got to do the trick...(this post started out like a good joke...too bad I can't remember the punchline)

Snack, thanks for answering all my questions. You are truly a wealth of information. How in the heck did you ever figure out some of those qualcom procedures? I don't think some of those button pushing steps are even in any manual. Once again I learned far more in here than from a mechanic.

No problem. A couple of them came as messages from Lincoln when we 1st got these units and were having problems. I guess it was q/comm who devised a shortcut to solve some of the issues. The rest, I just have a lot of free time and play around exploring. I had forgotten the tip Bumper posted. I've even figured out how to get to the Windows main screen where you have the -start- button and all the menu screens like on a regular computer. These units are mini computers, the screens we see are just a default program. All of the programs for stuff like scanning and navigation are there, Crete just doesn't use them and has them disabled. I've also found a way into the games that are a default part of every Windows operating system.(solitare, pinball, mine sweeper...etc). Plus, if I had my Cannon printer's drivers on a flash drive, I could install it and use my printer so I dont have to photograph all the messages I get that stir up my attitude.
I forgot to mention, the problem with your speaker not working may be a relay problem. On mine, if I'm sitting in the drivers seat, and have the q/comm volume all the way down. If I listen really closely there is a very subtle 'click' when a message comes in or I hit the 'home' button on the dash controller. It's behind the dash somewhere, but I'm not sure where. I dont think it in the fuse box, I think it's behind the instrument/gauge cluster. I'm not sure if the key has to be on or not.
*update*
I just did a little test...the relay 'click' comes from under the dash, on the left side of the wheel...from the area of the trucks ecm plug(or at least the hole in the dash makes it loudest there). I'm not sure what circuitry activates/deactivates the relay, but if it doesn't click when you hit the 'home' button, then either the relay is bad or the circuit that drives it has got a problem. But the key didn't have to be on for me to hear the relay.Last edited: Jun 2, 2013

Good company to keep in mind.

And the disorganization continues. I get to Fort Wayne to drop my load. Knowing that we both deliver and pick up here, I arrive, do my arrival call, ask if I should grab an empty, or loading out of same location. Within 5 min I'm told get an empty, nothing loading out of there. I go in, drop, hook to my assigned empty...and wait. After 20 minutes, I pull out. No sooner than I hit the gate to sign out...a load...p/u a load at the very same place that I was just told didn't have freight...that was ready FRIDAY...I really wish someone in management could explain the benefit of doing things this way.
On a positive note, they did answer me quick(at least the 1st msg) and they fixed the miles on my last load to include the extra empty miles from that voided load...so I guess today was a wash. -
I really do wish some of these Acklie service guys had to go out into the real world of customer service. half of them would be fired!
Ralph4159 Thanks this. -
Now, go to hook up to my almost new trailer (2269##) , to find a big dent in the permit box door, plus a dent and hole in the top left corner of the front above the box, and a bolt in the tire...

I'm going to apply for food stamps unless I can get back over 2000 miles a week.
I'm tired of 300 mile runs with two days to run them. -
I kinda overreacted today, but got interesting results. I started my day and shortly after, the qualcom beeps. I listen to it and it something about: "Call the accident department about your recent critical events (plural)". At first I was going to just ignore it as usual. But I eventually pulled over, shut down, and called accidents. After a lot of hemming and hawing, they said it must have been a mistake and they sent the message to the wrong truck. I asked them how many critical events I had and they said "none". I knew that if my terminal manager got ahold of that message, sure enough she would add it to her arsenal to attack me. So I asked accidents: "Please send a message to my truck apologizing for the mistake and also congratulating me for not having any critical events". LOL, to their credit, they sent just such a message.

I'd jump up and down, rant, rave, kick, cuss, put on your toe squashing boots and squash some toes....what ever it takes to prove to them that you MUST start getting miles...even if it means saying "no" to unproductive loads. Sometimes if they don't hear enough frustration from your messages, they think your content with the loads and miles you're getting. I would say talk to your F/M, but you're out of GA(a Marietta driver I'm guessing). Talking to that steaming pile of *bleep* is a good waste of oxygen
