I tried. I was headed for the house but got a call on a load I couldn't refuse. 110 miles home with 1 scale to pass after that I can sit on it till Monday for a Wed the 12th delivery.

the blitz wasn't nuch of a blitz,,, either the scale was closed or I got a green light from iowa to florida

You were in my neighbourhood and didn't stop to say hi?

I think too many drivers rely too much on their LC's. I never accept anything on the phone. My LC calls me about a load and they know I will always say I will get on there and look at it. I accept it through the website. I also never look at just matched loads. I look in the advanced search. I don't fill out anything but city and deadhead miles. My preferences with my LC also always changes nothing is set in stone it's all depending on where the truck is and what the truck brought in. I shoot for a mileage rate average not a certain milage rate. Right now I am averaging around $2.05 for all miles. You have to stay in good areas too. You can't just jump on a load because it pays better than the other if its going into a crappy area.
I do believe your LC matters. Mine took a vacation a couple weeks ago and I had a few heart to hearts with the fill in. He wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. I made sure I booked the week at the first of the week.
I just added another truck to Mercer last week and couldn't be happier. I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Trucks stay loaded at good rates. Pay is there and I have had no issues there. My settlement isn't nickel and dimed to death like some companies. Our trucks will stay at Mercer as long as it stays like it is now. I like their system it is better than other flatbed companies I have leased to.Travelinman Thanks this. -
How's Mercer or the flat bed freight up here in the Pennsylvania region doing?

Any one stuck in Jersey today?

Anyone want to drive for my old contractor for $500 a week? There's an opening.
I told my coordinator to route me back to Louisville. I am done. -
blind driver, it would be entirely differently if you were driving for yourself, working for 30 percent after the fuel charge is deducted doesn't leave much leeway does it. just go buy ya one

That was the plan by the end of Summer, but I am now broke. If I had my own truck, I would have come out of this with at least twice the cash.
