There is no training certificate of any kind that replaces 1 year of driving experience.
steerinwheelholder, J_FROG and perufb Thank this. -
I was a trainer for the Smith System and I have never heard that before. As mentioned its all common sense stuff that the majority of the students forget about in a week and go back to their old habits
-
System might seem common sense, but it makes it easier to remember. I swear by it. And yes, I agree, even when fully trained on applying the system to your day to day driving, it is no replacement for any other training.
CenutryClass and J_FROG Thank this. -
He's misinformed. It is, however, mandatory before upgrading to A-seat.

That what i thought

I taught Smith System to my daughter when she was learning to drive at 15 1/2 she is 23 and has had no accidents, I to swear by it, good common sense teachings

Everyone at our carrier goes through the course, and we pay folks to spend a morning at the terminal to take the course. As many times as they want. It's kept me out of trouble!
...however, the fella that claimed it was "worth one year's experience," was mistaken in terms of how we rate drivers. But yeah... it WILL put you ahead of the power curve. -
Playing Grand theft auto should be worth at least one years experience also....
