Stay away from Butler out of Kansas City, they are the scum of all scum, they will take money out of your pay for repairs on their trucks I had a problem with the reefer unit it cost $315 for repair, that came out of my check, they say they pay you.34 cpm but when you get your check they are only paying you.23cpm, they charge you for orientation, which they say they tell you that so many lies the recruiters tell you,

In the day of technology there is a tool for drivers to deploy.

    Record your phone calls!!
    Record when you are recruited!!
    Record your orientation!!

Keep it in a safe place! It will hold up in court! Many recorders now have a micro camera and can record hours of material on its flash drive or micro SD card.
Most jurisdictions have a cap of $5,000 in small claims court. If your situation is worse and worth more money talk to a lawyer and let him listen to your recording.

Many companies think a lot of drivers are gullible peons that can be thugged and lied to. A recent friend of mine was leaving a carrier because they were pushing him and not allowing him to get some rest. He recorded his conversation with the FM. He recorded the FM berating him (demanding that "he better make it happen or else). The driver delivered the load and returned the truck to the closest terminal.

The company threatened to dock his pay and put an abandonment on his DAC.

The driver contacted the FMCSA, the DOT and other enforcement agencies and provided them with the recording, and a written safety complaint.
A lawyer is representing him for a percentage of the lawsuit.

In the end the company did not see that coming lol.

    Since then:

The company wants to settle with the driver.
    The FM was fired.
They are being reviewed under a microscope by the DOT, NTSB and a host of other agencies.
The driver is now moved to a company that is treating him like a professional driver should be

There is technology out there to cover your #####! USE IT!

I am not going to list the companies as this matter is yet to be resolved in court. However, last I heard the company is wanting to settle :)

You should probably start your own thread. This one is about US Freightways Logistics.

In post 2 of this thread you can see he quit at your terminal returning your equipment. Even if he didn't give two weeks notice you have no right to keep his money. Two weeks notice is a customary practice not law.

This is the exact reason I am going to get my own authority and get my own rig. I have $140,000 in working capital I saved up.

I know every single game that the companies play to the last drop.

I will not be nickle and dimed to death. I will not allow myself to be taken advantage of. I will not play "make pretend you own your own truck fleece plan." PERIOD!!

I wish drivers would actually post facts not fiction, including the times they actually don't complete their loads or do something that results in termination. As I said people should sign their names under posts like this and be prepared to give the full story. We at US Freightways Logistics stand behind our drivers, uphold our policies and strive to have the best team possible, and if people lack the skills to be successful drivers they should look for employment elsewhere, as you can see there are drivers that actually come to the defense of the company so we must be doing something right!

Nice way to address the original poster's grievances. Do you have a $1,200 "escrow account" for company drivers? What about keeping his last paycheck for 45 days or not paying him at all? You don't even know for sure who the OP was so how do you know he was a bad driver? Let me guess you 1099 drivers too?

You do notice that he didn't reply to the question of escrow or 1099, seems as if someone hit the nail on the head. Also if he didn't hold the check for 45 days, how long did he hold it, Forever?
