Very tired here... after only 4:30 hr sleep last night, I spent all day running errands, driving, talking to folks, shopping... it's hot here and my vehicle's a/c hasn't been working for several summers now.... no time to get it fixed... And now, as I was trying to back into a spot here at the hotel parking lot, couldn't put in reverse... :biggrin_25510: I guess will need another transmission??? :biggrin_2552: Not that now... with so much to do, with only a few more days to go back on the road, a lot of stuff here in the hotel... Better get busy tomorrow and find out if will be able to have that fixed/ replaced or whatever in time or if will have to park car and rent a vehicle... Sometimes, one week off is not enough to do all that I need...:biggrin_25512: After all, I am the only one to take care of everything...

Rest area near I79 mm50 in WV. Weird day...

Had some moron try to run me off the road... he's driving an Acura. :biggrin_25524:

Two other morons road raging at each other, throwing the no. 1 sign... one of them tries to pass the other on a striped median area within inches of my truck.

    :biggrin_25513:

Some guy nearly backed his truck off of the cliff at the PEElot up the road. Good thing he had a spread... tandems and he'd gone over.

    :biggrin_25526:

    Was today National Dumbarse Day???

I thought everyday was National Dumbarse Day on the highways.

One of my drivers was within 2 miles of the TS, on his way home for the day, when he had a blowout. He could see the TS from where he was, but too much traffic and his mudflap bar was bent, so he called roadside. It took them less than 2 hours to get there. He sent me a message after he got to the TS to let me know roadside got his mudflap taken care of then followed him to the TS. He said he was slinging tire all the way. I asked if that meant he left a trail of used rubber for me to find my way home.

I offered to bring him a cold drink on my way home if he was still there, but he said he'd be fine. We've had a lot of blown tires this last week or 2.......surprise, surprise.

    Nighty night, y'all.

next time your mad at them ask them if they ever check the air pressure in those tires
underinflated tires create more heat and go boom

It may have been. Several incidents today but the best was getting to the construction on 44 in Joplin, .25 mile from one lane and a truck comes flying up on my left, swerves in front of me and slams on his brakes as he almost slams into the traffic ahead of me (well, now him). I guess that 1 spot and 2 seconds was really important to him.

And, I am embarrassed to admit I did receive some perverse satisfaction out of watching a driver take 10 tries to do a straight back at Calavo in Garland today. It is nice to know I'm not the worst diver in the industry. :biggrin_25525:

Yeah, 5 minutes of checking sure beats 2-3 hours sitting by the side of the road.

LOL! There's some guy on another thread convinced that if he pays for nitrogen, he'll never again be inconvenienced by the thought of applying a gage to a tire.
