The way you guys are interpreting "sleeper berth", it makes it seem like you mean you have to only be in sleeper berth if you are sleeping. For example, if im in my sleeper, but not sleeping, must be logged as off duty.
From what they told us in class a month ago, sleeper berth is defined as a PLACE, not an activity. So if youre in the sleeper berth, and not sleeping, its still logged as sleeper berth. What I want to know, if it is classified as a place, lets say, if I log into sleeper berth, wake up 4 hours in, go in to the truck stop, then go back to the sleeper, do i need to change from sleeper to off to sleeper again
Edit: never mind, I just realized, if you went from sleeper, to off, to sleeper again. That wouldnt be 8 CONSECUTIVE sleeper hours. Guess we sneak around if we wake up in the middle of the night? lol

If You "sneak around" while logging line 2, DO NOT leave a trail for the Lawyers or Cops, (i.e. pay phone calls, Cash or Credit RECIEPTS). CYA false logs.

Don't forget your tinfoil hat, and wear a disguise so they won't catch you on camera.. I think some of y'all are scared of your own shadow..

If you are involved in an accident, The Lawyers will go over your personal records just to find any "Gotcha"s. And Law Enforcement can ask to VIEW anything that may be in 'Plain Sight'. I once had a State Trooper stand at a Toll Booth in PA and held out his hand demanding 'Log Book' and Fuel Receipts.
Of Course, I now use "E-Logs' and do not collect Fuel Receipts since I do NOT need to turn any in.
But if that middle of the nite Ice cream receipt in your pocket after you slipped or tripped is found while your were logged into the Space called "Sleeper Berth". That just adds to your woes. CYA false Logs. -
I wouldn't lock my dog in a kennel for 8 hours straight, I don't know how these policy writers honestly expect a human being to be locked into a place with no restroom facilities. They want to make it impossible to run a split sleeper rule. Every tight plan I get just about requires a split sleeper.
