Keep us posted on the lenght of training since you already have a cdl. I have been reading about stevens and also watching videos about them. Also you should be there with you tuber matt winegardener.

if its as he stated things have changed i came to stevens with a cdl but was still out with a trainer for 7 weeks then with a trainee for another 3 weeks just like anyone else coming into stevens. no matter that i had a cdl they still made me do all the bs except there school. not saying it was a bad thing but you would think some consideration would be made with experience.

Welcome to the flock! I started Stevens school 1 year ago today. Its been up, its been down --more ups than downs. Just do things the Stevens way, and it should be fairly smooth sailing.

well, I wouldn't go that far!
always listen carefully, take your time to make decisions, ask every question you can think and don't be afraid to get out and look!

Stevens has a particular way to do things, so they send experienced drivers out with trainers to teach them the Stevens way. Also, this may also help to un-teach bad habits-- I'm continuously surprised by the actions of old hands out here (what makes an "ace" driver of many many moons think a Longnose with a super-sleeper and a 53-footer with the tandems at the rear can U-turn on a 2 lane road?). It sounds silly, and may be a pain, but just go with it... Its character building.

You didnt state if you just have the CDL or any experience to go along with it. If no experience, you will still go through the school. I had my CDL but no OTR experience. There were about 8-10 in my class that didnt have experience or it had been awhile. Having the CDL already in hand was a huge benefit because we were on the hill getting used to driving while everyone else was at DPS taking tests.
