    Yup

It's Mercer's all inclusive country club. You get to pay $1000 to join (deductible), you don't get to use the pool nor the golf course. You never get invited to the Mercer Ball where the Kool-Aid is spiked nor do you get to pass go and collect $100.

Nope I can't afford to be part of that club.

But I am seriously thinking of jumping ship at OD. I really wanted to give it longer than 4 days but that city work with having to hand unload all day with trying to find these places and their computers is a lot more than I bargined for. Can't remember the last time I worked so hard.
Monday, I'm gona ask about going OTR team because it pays so well and otherwise, think I may be back at Mercer real soon.
Yea, I'm to lazy to be a city guy and don't want to do city for couple months waiting on line haul to open up.

Good luck flightline. I have a good friend that went over there back in march. hes at the OD terminal in Dayton. He was real aggravated at first, but when he got used to having a real job, but a predictable one, after seeing his pay versus hours and the medical and benefits....

hes starting to actually like it now. he said he misses having his own truck because how clean and comfortable his big large car was, BUT....when he gets out of it at the end of his shift, he doesn't worry about a thing. goes home and enjoys time in his house with his family. cant really blame him.

said he usually clears between 800 to 1100 bring home, depending on hours, overtime stuff like that. I told him i'm a young man and i'm gonna keep owner operating doing what i'm doin, but one of these days i'll prolly do what hes doing. lol.......hindsights 20/20 I guess huh.

    good luck!

OD doesn't pay overtime but requires city guys to do 10 hours a day min.
I live little over an hour away so that give me less than 11 hours a day at home. Eat sleep shower and back to work leaves so little quality time during the week.
Maybe I've had to much Mercer moola if. Gotten quite lazy too.

if it was me, I'd be sitting in Louisville come Monday morning. sure you weren't home every night, but when you were, it was for quality time. I'll be trying to get a load back south late next week, and when I get there, it will be a full week before I leave again. that's quality time with the wife and kids.
told you, those real jobs suck. And they just don't pay ####

If you come back, do it within 30 days, and you should get your old truck number. I left after 21 years, gone for 9 months. Went from a low 4 digit truck number to a zip code. Back 2 years and very happy.

wanted to add, the upside of that crappy job is it's a lot easier for you to live healthier. unloading freight gives you a bit of a workout, and if your wife is anything like mine she probably send you with snacks and lunch everyday.

So true but I'm getting to old to exorcise that much or care to.
Maybe they'll let me run team. I hear the teams make 66 mile and get 6500 a week.
