vovlvo244t, you shoulda seen the docks I had to bump today! First one was made for a str8 trk. After about 4 tries I had the trlr in the hole and the trk at an almost 90* angle. Second was an angle dock but the curb was about 57' in front of the dock so again, the trlr was in the hole and the trk was at about a 60* angle. The third was a flat out "pull across the road blocking two lanes of traffic" fun fest! All of these in and around the Washington DC area. Now I sit at the T/A in Jessup waiting to see if the cons will accept my 2 pallets early or if I have to wait until 22:30 to unload.

Home theater system. Told him I have an awesome '70s stereo in the truck (which I do, Pioneer SA-8500, total current draw is less than 300W so I can run it on my Cobra 400W inverter) that I love and have no extra room and he said 'K' and drove off.
(It's the one on top. The one below, which is at home, is the receiver my dad had all through my childhood. It's got battle scars, but still works great and I will carry it to my grave with me.Last edited: Aug 21, 2013

The newest chapter in my saga: I was told to go to Lincoln and see a big Whig. After I entered the room, he handed me a piece of paper which was a warning from my TM. She alleged that I had refused a load and it said I would be terminated if I did it again. But as usual, it didn't tell the whole story.
A cole of weeks ago I had been in Denver, 2 days before my vacation in California (pre-authorized almost a month before). When MT, they sent me a 2- stop load around the Denver area. I only had just enough hours to reach California in two days so I told them on the qualcom: "if I take that load, I won't have enough hours to reach California". To my recollection, I didn't accept or refuse, just alerted them to that.
That's when my AM suddenly messages that there was no freight to Calif and since my address was in Florida I couldn't go there anyways (even though she had already authorized the exact location weeks before). She said I would have to start my vacation immediately and rent a car. I messages back that I was looking into that. Only a few minutes later my TM sends a pplan going directly to the area of Calif I needed to go. I thanked her, accepted the load, and everything worked out great ... Or so I thought.
Now I'm wondering if the whole thing was some kind of twisted set-up. I was never told anything about "you must take this 2-stop local load". Today was the first I heard about it. I told the big Whig "please just look at all the qualcomm messages. They show exactly what happened". But that just made him angry and I got the sinking feeling they don't even follow up on anything you write rebutting a warning.
Unfortunately, on my vacation I was too busy to work on my applications. I really need to submit them fast as it seems like a race before my AM does her witchcraft. I have never in any job felt this way, like someone was totally obsessed with retaliating against me. -
I have a house in Montana that I have been trying to sell for a couple years. I haven't seen it in 13 months. I asked my AM to try and route me across 90 so I could swing by and check on it. They failed to send me out there and eventually my AM told me that my FM blocked his efforts to route me out there. I guess I am gonna have to go up the chain to fight this. Since, I have spoken to several drivers and they don't get done that way. I met a guy out of Salt Lake who gets to go to Miami on request. And a guy out of Marietta gets to go see his girlfriend in Kingman, Az. Clearly a double standard in play here.

Please post if you find out the official policy. My mailing address is in Florida, but I actually live in the truck. All my relatives live in California so that's where I have been taking all my days off (3 or 4 times already). I got my 5 day paid vacation authorized (by my AM) a month in advance for the same location. Then suddenly after I had worked my way from South Carolina to Denver, 2 days before the start of my vacation, my AM messages that I can't go there unless I rent a car. I have no idea why the sudden change.

I will be home in a couple days. Anyone know who the next step up is above FM?

I talked to a Crete driver who was a Denver Bronco fan and asked his AM to get him loads with some time on them that were in fhe vicinity of where they played. Said he went to five games last year all over the country while still under loads. I didnt know whether to believe him, sounded crazy.
