Well I survived my all night bus trip. It was pretty good from Austin to Dallas, but the rest sucked. I was stuck in a small set next to a guy as big as me. Could not get any sleep. I am going to take a nap at the Meadors Inn, not Days Inn. I think my recruiter got a little mixed up on the motels, but all is well now. Nighty Night...

Day 1 of orientation we started by filling out paperwork, You will need your license and Social Security card. Next standard Urine test, no hair test for anyone. Next we went to physical. Checked eye site better than 20/40 using standard eye chart. DEFPOTEC...

They gave a few people with necks larger than 17" and BMI larger than 35 a 3 month med card, because they need to have sleep apnea testing.

Blood pressue has to be less than 140 / 90

We had a driving test today, went about 10 miles, made some turns and then they had us back into a tight spot. Told us that we pass if we get the truck in the spot without hitting anything.

Staying at USA Terminal bunkhouse now.

Well this place really rocks compared to swift and werner. I am officially an employee. I got a brand new Freightliner Cascadia, yes it is a 2014... Could not believe it. Only had 845 miles on it. Funny thing is they have a place to put a CB, but I did not see any antenna. The antenna is in the fairing somewhere and you can't see it. I checked the SWR on my CB and it was 1:1.1 on channel 40 and 1:1.3 on channel 1. So that is good enought for me...

I have not met one person on the staff here that has been mean, short and talked down to me. I am not used to this, that was what I got used to at Werner...

Well, my medical is due soon and it looks like I'm going to have to start the worker compensation process. Since there is no federal mandate or regulation to force this. Nor any scientific data to justify the criteria they are using.
