So as I have said before in other threads I'm just doing my research now. when i spoke with the recruiter today he said due to where I live in Alabama (85 and 65 merge) I would be able to take the truck home for my home time. Now have any of you drivers heard of that before. Cause everything I have read you park it at a terminal and drive your own vehicle home.
Also how is it for the new drivers on miles per week? .29 per mile would only get me about 580 a week take home (with averare of 2500 a week) sound about right?
called recruiter today

Not uncommon to be able to take a tractor home.
Freymiller used to let us bobtail 200 miles home every 2 weeks.
.29 a bit low but you gotta start somewhere. -
Blairandgretchen,
Oh I know it is not uncommon I was refering if it was uncommon for W&S. And yes I tend to agree .29 is low. But they do offer other incentives to bring it up to about .34 ish if you make the safety bonus and stuff.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Smokey, almost every OTR company let you take your truck home on home time. All you need is a secure location with permission to park on home time. Local drivers are usually the ones who have to bring the truck back to the yard.

W & S Lets you take it home if either of these are true, Is the yard to small to leave the truck there or is there a record number of crimes of drivers cars being broken into? The Phoenix branch allows you to take the truck home if you can park it in a safe place for your home time, There are others the will not allow you to take it home, Missoula for one because the shop maty want to do something to it while you are home or they have plenty of riim to store it there!. But if that is what Kristi has said you can put it in stone that is what they mean! Good Luck with W/S stay at least a year before jumping ship! Stay Safe.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Thanks luvtotruck. That is what I was looking for. Everything I read on here about W&S said you had to park at a terminal. The closest terminal to me is 3 hours away so was trying to figure it out. They said I live in a high freight pass threw. I.E. Montgomery Alabama. So I could park it near my house on home time. But I asked only cause we know recruiters will tell you just about anything to get you to come to the company.
