I just finished my first week and love it. I work for gatewood sales delivering beer and soda, hard work but good pay and I work Tuesday through Friday... Home every night and work for some good people. This is my first cdl job but I drove firetrucks for the past ten years. So lucky to land such a cool job.

i drive for a milk company, its awesome being home every night and getting a couple days off a week. im on salary though which i dont like but im going to be getting a raise fairly soon and my boss is a very very nice guy. i would not enjoy moving those kegs though looks like its not very fun.

I worked at a beer distributor (in the warehouse) and went out a few times as a helper. Some of the drivers would stack two kegs and go down stairs with them :biggrin_2556:

how much do those kegs weigh?? i will sometimes stack my dolly past the bar because i hate making 2 trips when the dolly isnt full, i will also do whats called double stacking, which is basically two stacks of milk side by side, so either 10 cases or 8 cases next to each other, its well over 300lbs.

Congrats on the job! Glad you are liking it. Don't worry about the low starting pay, that usually only takes a few years to go way up... and daily hometime? I don't think you can put a price on that. Good luck!

we get paid by the case and thankfully we don't have kegs. I am on week four and everything is going good lol I have outlasted the last two drivers for my Valdosta ga route. I even get to ride the interstate to and from Valdosta with the big boys hahaha
