Highly doubt it's anything like a CDL test. They just want to see if you can drive the truck. Real casual, just don't be reckless and you'll be fine.

I work for YRC. They will hire you as long as you can sort of pass the road test. Then they will put you in their training program. YRC isn't what it used to be but still leaps and bounds above these bottom feeder companies. Benefits are paid for the whole family and I think pay is topping out at 63 cpm right now, in my area it is anyway. You will have to join the Teamsters. Good luck!

As long as I can "sort of" pass the road test..haha. I like the sound of that!! Maybe I actually stand a chance then! Yea, I assumed they would be better than the other options...werner, swift..etc.

Run a curb and you are toast.
Take it slow and easy.
It is always better being safe, than sorry.
Take turns wide, and always remember to shift down at least once when coming to a stop.
If you have to wait a minute to make a turn safely, do so. Sometimes opposing traffic makes it necessary when you need more room to make the turn.
'Sort of' won't cut it. You either make it, or you don't.
But the driving test is usually nothing very difficult.
Mine was going around some city streets, in a square.
A few right turns while being at speed limit, for the most part.
Then a backing while in the terminal.
But there is usually a trick corner - one that you have to get around safely.
No curb hopping allowed. So you have to take all the room you need to avoid that.
If there is a car in the way, wait it out until you can make the turn safely. -
It never gets any easier, everyone just get used to it. I would take my kids and wife with me before my little ones began school. I always had them on the truck but now that they are in school, I had to stay local. If you can't go local, I would suggest you start your week early. Sunday night so you can be home by Friday. I live in Cali so I would do short runs to Arizona all week so I could be home by the weekend. Good Luck!
