I need some advice. I am probably going to extend my trucking days out another three years. My son is thinking about teaming with his son once he comes on. I'm going to sell my interest in our tractor to my son so he owns it outright.
I am thinking about going solo at another company. Over 4 million miles safe driving, lots of experience, looking to run dry van, what would you do?
Why leave CRST? because running solo here is not where I would fit in. I'm not looking for a mega carrier necessarily, I also don't need to get big miles because I've made my money. My home is paid for, cars paid for, mommas store bought boobies paid for, that's a joke, and my retirement is secure through Fidelity Investments.
I'm poking just to keep busy, be active and keep trucking.
What Would You Do Now

Anyone know anything about Tango Transport
-
If you're in the hiring area, look at Ozark Motor Lines; dry van, no NYC, no Canada, 100% no-touch freight.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Well i know Tango's HQ is off Interstate 20 in Shreveport,LA.Mainly Operate out of Shreveport and there is a Terminal in Arky.

I would thoroughly recommend CRST. You can train students there and pass on your wealth of trucking knowledge to newcomers to the industry.

My father has 59 years old, and has 8 trucks running; house, car, etc. he will never retire until, he feels it is the time...

Go to one of the companies that offer hometime.
7 on, 7 off
4on,4 off etc.
Just drive the truck and deliver. Let someone else worry about repairs and maintenance.
Take it easy. -
I wish you luck. it a shame you can't retire completely now. you have obama care to thank for that. for those who are preaching retire. that's not a good option anymore. retirment now and according to the health care law. once retired it's up the the govornment weather you get treatment or not.

I can retire, I could have last year and took a week off and went to Florida with the misses. I missed driving and I talked to a driver at a truck stop near Ormond Beach, around my age and he said this to me...If your truly ready to call it a day, the thought of getting behind the wheel will make you feel homesick.
I'm not at that point yet I'm going to give it another three years.
