How much weight have you gained since you started your trucking career?

    Gained 20 lbs., lost five, keeping the five off so I'm at a total gain of 15 lbs. I keep a cooler in the cab with me full of water. If you have to pee all the time you simply need to get creative. They do make sanitary closed, uh, contraptions :biggrin_25520: for such situations.

    I'm mostly local these days but when I run regional I keep a case of water in the cab with me. When it gets down to about six bottles I hit a Wal-Mart and resupply.

    Stay away from the fried and most fast foods (even Subway's quality has taken a dive lately with its GMO garbage), most sweets and darn near all red meat. I eat a ton of beef jerky ... pretty lean and full of protein and it makes you thirsty so the water goes down easily.

    Anywhoo.. I've lost about 35-40 lbs since I started driving more or less full time. I was heavy but in ok shape from powerlifting. I only eat when I'm hungry. Nowadays, off the exercise regimen, that is usually one good, cooked meal a day and mostly healthy snacks like trail mix and an occasional protein bar or even candy here and there to fill in the gaps. Some days, I don't get the good meal due to schedule/route. No big deal. I also mostly quit carbonated sugary drinks to help avoid gout flareups. That's been a factor as well.

    I've cut way down on red meat since getting into the truck, but I've found something I've "thrown into the mix" a couple times a week now. I buy buffalo, venison, or elk jerky; then break a few flakes off into a tupperware bowl of cous cous with some olive oil; add hot water and cover in a towel and leave it for about 30 minutes (or until your next stop). The jerky becomes soft and tender. It's like having a really good stew without the hassle of having meat spoil. A few ounces of jerky will last for several meals. I only buy the jerky that has two ingredients: meat and salt. Trying to make this recipe with all the sugared up and artificial flavored jerkies is .... less than satisfactory.

    I've dropped 15 since I started in May..running flats, and walking helps keep me under control, dont eat the healthiest at times but I try my best..

    Gained 65 or so in my previous career at At&t(Desk job) over 4 1/2 years really started to mess with my back..not fun at all..
