Well... my slave driv... er dispatcher got me another load out of San Angelo, going to Chillicothe MO for Monday AM. Slip-slided over there on 67/277... not a bad run. Yeah, icy 'n snowpacked, but mostly everyone decided to stay home. Got combos, headin' fer MO... 183 north... same deal, and on I44 now- dry pavement. At the first service plaza north 'o Tejas.

Got to play in the snow around Dayton and Columbus... few fender benders and a freight hauler rollover on 71.

    Home for the weekend.

Yesterday at 12:37 he says pick up 12xxx Richmond Ave, drop Houston Crating 6# ctn.
Ok I say. 12xxx is about a mile outside Beltway 8 west.

Then before I've even picked that up I get 5 pallets 5K# going to a place my phone couldn't find.

One of the office chicks calls before I get to Houston Crating and says don't worry about it.

Dropped at Houston Crating (what a madhouse of flat beds!)

Decided to sit at a gas station with easy access to Greens Rd. (the way I get to 59 to go home)

Get pick up 2ctns 50# Direct Hot to Sumner. Finish up over there at 4:15.

At 4:30 I send "Do you have a theory on if I have something else?" No answer. No other communication. Got home 6:45.

Make sure ya got your long johns and fur hat to keep warm. TruckerDawg :grommit: is certainly going to need a coat and boots to keep from freezing. Of course, a steak might help keep him warm, also. All the roads around here are in good shape for now, but there is snow moving in this evening and tomorrow.

I was in Knoxville, Tn when i posted, but i'm sittin in Iowa now.. I took Giggles advice and grab'd a pair at the T/A on I70 just west of St. Louis.. two sets cost me my entire pay check.. oh well, i don't have to buy them again. I may buy a single set if dispatch decides to keep me on this side of the country for awhile.

Bragging rights... :biggrin_2559: Was chatting with an American guy who said he went to Rio and Sao Paulo, Brasil in July and he found it hot... Told him that was winter there... :biggrin_2559: and he wouldn't want to know how hot it gets in the summer... :biggrin_25512:

Kw9's retire? I don't know... I think he likes to stay busy and he likes what he does... Maybe if he retire from one kind of work, he may start another one... :biggrin_25519:

Other than the heavy rain yesterday, I haven't seen any pretty bad weather so far... Road was dry today in VA and TN. Now I'm at one of my company's warehouse in TN. There will be nobody here till Monday when I will be unloaded. So, I have this little yard all for myself... :yes2557: There's a small ugly Pilot about 3 mins from here. I may go there tomorrow just for shower but will come back here to sleep. This place is sooooooo quiet, in the back of the building and there is practically no traffic on the street. Dropped the trailer here this evening, rushed to store to pay my cell, then to post office to mail letter and back here. May find some other places to go tomorrow... Company lets us use truck for personal conveyance for max of 20 miles a day.

Springfield MO... uneventful trip on dry roads. Got 1/2" of "no appreciable accumulation" so far tonight. The trailer yard is a disaster area... stuff all over the place, snow 'n ice. Helped a new driver out of a jam 1" from another trailer, and every time he moved he slid sideways... closer. Got him squared away, and decided the place was an accident waiting to happen...

Out front in a nice spot, meant for temporary, but tonight it's home.
